Desmond Wade, out of Linden HS in NJ, just completed his soph season at Houston. Zags is reporting that he has asked for his release because he wants to play closer to home.
Wade chose Houston over Iona back in the fall of 07.

He is a 5-8 PG, and a pure one with solid numbers. Not a scorer, a nice assist to turnover ratio and a decent 3-point shot.

We'd have him for 1 year, and it would be the senior year of Machado--so I don't know if we'd be in the mix, particularly since those who recruited him for Iona back in the fall of 07 are no longer with us. And with us having 656 guards on the roster already, I can't see this happening and like everyone else would rather get a big with the last ship.
Just thought it was interesting, though, and I am curious whether there is any interest from either side.
