Colorado (24-9) won 58-52 over #22 Washington State to advance to the finals of the Pac-12 conference tournament in Las Vegas. Florida, led by Walter Clayton Jr.'s 24 points, defeated #19 Alabama in the SEC tournament. Long Beach State (20-14) won 83-79 over #1 seed UC Irvine in the Big West tournament. #5 seed St. Peter's beat #1 seed Quinnipiac 62-60 to advance to the finals. Mouhamed Sow led the Peacocks with 15 points, and had the game winning layup at the buzzer after getting an offensive rebound. Matt Balanc tallied 15 for the Bobcats, making only 5 of 19 shot attempts however. Quinnipiac left a lot of points at the charity stripe, making only 17 of 27 free throw attempts. St. Joseph's (21-13) lost 66-60 to VCU in the Atlantic 10 semifinal round. #5 seed St. Peter's, down 32-25 at halftime, beat #2 seed Fairfield 68-63 to become the MAAC champs. Corey Washington led the Peacocks with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Caleb Fields was top scorer for the Stags with 17 points and 9 rebounds, and Elijah Wood had 12 points and 10 boards. No stats to back this up, but it seems to me that the OOC teams that we played this year had more 20 win seasons than any year that I can remember.

Congrats to Wagner on their first NCAA tourney win ever! Great game to watch. Wagner had only 7 players and looked better than any MAAC team. Melvin Council is a stud. I guess he'll be a sought after portal target. Sad we have to expect these departures to almost automatically happen. |

St. Joseph's lost in overtime 75-72 to Seton Hall in the NIT round of 32.
