St. Francis (0-3) lost 82-59 at Santa Clara.

Siena, playing without Michael Eley, lost 90-48 at Richmond. Giovanni Emejuru led the Saints with 13 points.

Niagara lost at home 73-64 to Bucknell. Ahmad Henderson II led the Purple Eagles with 28 points.

Mount St. Mary's won at home 74-60 over Coppin State. Dakota Leffew's 14 points led 4 Mounties who scored in double figures.

Canisius won 70-67 at St. Bonaventure. Tre Dinkins' 16 points led the Griffs who shot 50% for the game and 50% from three point land.

St. Peter's won 75-48 at NJIT. Corey Washington led the Peacocks with 23 points and 10 rebounds. St. Peter's controlled the boards with 49 rebounds to just 23 for NJIT.

Marist won 65-59 at UMBC. Max Allen II led the Red Foxes with 12 points.

Two things:
1. Marist and Canisius are off to good starts.
2. Didn't think that I'd ever say this, but I feel for the Siena fans. The team lost out on a key recruit (Duru) when the NCAA didn't grant him a waiver. Best player is injured, don't know how long he'll be out. And they only have about a ten man scholarship roster. In time they have a chance (I guess) for a December addition or two, but the short term prognosis is bleak.

Army (+25.5) was in a dogfight with Indiana up until about the 3 min mark left in the game. Unfortunately they couldn't pull it off. Would have been a quad 1 win and made that Marist victory vs them on Monday a whole lot better. Oh well.

Know it's a home game for SJU, but still surprised that they are a 2.5 point favorite over Michigan.

St John’s fans should be proud tonight. Their team stayed within shouting distance of Michigan for a good part of the 1st half and kept the blowout loss under 20 points.

That is huge progress for SJU.

Rider lost 64-50 at Nebraska. Corey McKeithan led the Broncs with 19 points. Rider only trailed by a point 47-46 with 10:42 left to play, but with Mervin James fouling out after playing just 19 minutes, the Broncs were outscored 17-4 the rest of the way.
