I'm just looking forward to being back at Hynes and seeing the Gaels in action. Will I be a little upset if they lose? Sure, but I've seen enough to know Tobin knows what he's doing and this team will win a lot of games.

Is it too early to say that this is a must win game? While our defense against Charleston exceeded everyone's (probably) expectations, we struggled on offense. And, to be honest, outside of Greg Gordon, only our frosh guards, Quigley and Aranguren, looked like scoring threats on a consistent basis. Since it was our first game I still have hopes that Panzo shows why he was a top 3pt shooter at Stetson, and Williams shows why he won ROY at Southern. At least I believe he did. Our starting backcourt looks solid, with Tretout ready to battle GG for the team's scoring leader. Brown looks able to run the offense, but doubt that he'll put up big scoring numbers. In time Bates might step up, but we don't really know. Adewale's contributions this year will probably be rebounding and defense, as his offensive game will take some time. No doubt that Oz will contribute, but not sure when that will be. Confident that the HAC will be packed and the fans excited for this game. Three point shooting will be key, imo. must win for what? we are not getting an at large bid and its not a conference game even if it was IT IS GAME 2 Please give 1 reason that you could use to think it is a must win game Because no one wants to lose a home opener and fall to 0-2? We are all really encouraged by the Charleston game. I think it’s fair to say we will all be discouraged if we lose to SHU at home where we tend to dominate. Think that’s all 59 meant

I for one, don’t take this game lightly.
Sacred Heart may not have much name recognition, but from what I’ve read, this is a good team that’s been selected to finish first in their (NEC) conference. They have 10 players returning and 4 of 5 of their starters are back. The good thing is Tobin knows them and will have the team prepared for what they do best. But I don’t see this as being an easy automatic win, which is a vibe I’m getting in some of these posts.

I thought we all agreed that the team was going to take a while to gel, that we should expect inconsistent play, etc.
We could lose to Sacred Heart, then beat Colorado in a couple weeks. Neither would shock me.
It's absolutely ludicrous to label a November game as must-win. Plain and simple. Some of you can disagree. Some of you are also insane.

Hope there is a raucous crowd Friday night to greet our new coach & team.

So, I think we should win. I always think we should win and will always disappointed if we lose. We can leave the analysis until after the game win or lose. Either way we shouldn't be over-the-top with our reactions, but we all will be. That about sums up all the threads for the rest of the season.

Super versatile at 6'6 210 and strong for his size. Can Iona's 4s (Panzo, Williams, Brice) step up this defensive assignment? Against CofC, Policelli/Burnham (their PFs) combined for 28 points, so they got fed. SHU was 5-2 last year when Galette scored 20+

I implore all posters who attend to jump up and down like wild banshees for 40 minutes of game action. 😬😬 59 included!!!!!!!!

Yes a work in progress but progressing nicely. First hand watched us overcoming adversity early on in a sold out arena at Charleston. We did not panic and with a couple of made baskets on turnovers we created with our defense where we did not capitalize its a different game. Offense takes time to develop as all our players are playing in a new system. However we never stopped playing defense. Anyway on to Friday. Coach Al
