Technically, players could lose eligibility if the Federal decision is reversed. If the final ruling decides that college players can exchange their labor for compensation freely without any restrictions, it could have impact on the world outside of colleges.
The NCAA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The NFL is a 501 (c)(6) organization. If players are free to exchange their labor freely to the highest bidder in college, what happens to the NFL Draft or Salary Caps? The NFL draft would need to be abolished as it is nothing more than a slave auction and they should ban the limitation on first year players salaries, being forced to go to the city that drafts the athlete, or even salary caps could be viewed as monopolistic owners restricting the athletes ability to freely market their labor.
