Siena lost by 21 to Cornell, but in his Siena debut, Sean Durogordan (Sp?) a recruit we lost out on, led the Saints with 23 points and 15 rebounds. I saw a good part of the game and he looked like a 1st team MAAC player to me.

He’s a difference maker for Siena…they only lost by 21 points tonight.

He took like 48 shots and most of his points came in the 2nd half, otherwise known in Albany these days as garbage time.
The greatest poster in the history of the MAAC as determined by THREE separate polls.

1983, if you follow Siena you know that a 21 point loss is a moral victory. And even Guy, at long last is off the Siena bandwagon. And now 1970 shows us why he is NOT a scout, once again. So, I'll ask the question, did anyone see the Siena game, last night? And, if so, what did you think of SD?
P.S. Not sure, but believe he was 4-10 from three.

Durugordon is a good player, will obviously help a historically bad Siena team. The dude that runs Siena's NIL is on Twitter last night saying he's the best portal recruit in the MAAC. Need to slow down on that narrative and if he's 1st team All-Maac.
He played 29 minutes. Big numbers with 23&15, but he shot 7-17/4-11/5-9. Had zero assists/steals/blocks and was beat many times on D.
Like posted earlier, did most of his scoring vs Cornell's bench. Their starters only played 15 minutes.
There were some arguments back and forth about the A10 and how it had fallen back. Not trying to argue about Iona but we have a week until next game and I was browsing the NET rankings. A10 has 8 teams inside the top 100 (ranks 6th in this category). Just for references, the only conferences with more teams inside the top 100:
Big 12 - 12 ACC - 11 Big 10 - 11 SEC - 11 Big East - 9

No doubt it’s a good conference, light years ahead of the MAAC. Hypothetically, had Iona been invited and accepted an A10 invite, no doubt FURP would’ve still bolted to St. Chicken. In hindsight, Iona not choosing to look at moving up was the right decision.

Agree, I just remembered arguments about how it turned into a 1-bid league. Seems to have rebounded. If Tobin gets the team to where we hopes in the next couple years the conversations will spark up again. Who knows what th NCAA outlook will even be in a few years.

Ok so it's a tougher conference, how many in the top 50 with legit chance to go dancing is the question, not who has top 100 teams
i was looking at the different conferences for betting purposes. i don't think the MAAC will be in the playin game, there are a few conferences that have no team above 250. looking at the great A10, they only have 1 team in the top 60+, so even though the conference is way better than the MAAC they are still a one bid league, if you want to argue maybe 2 by the end of the year, but those teams have such a harder schedule than a MAAC team it isn't worth the cost

This is more about the BIG conferences stealing every bid and each year it gets worse. At the moment only the AAC, Mountain West, and WCC are projected to get multiple bids outside of the power 6 (let's also remember the Pac12 and Mountain West are kind of merging next year so Mountain West will become a power 6).
So if you aren't a top 8 conference you prob aren't getting multiple bids if the fav wins the conf tournament.
It's time for them to just separate because it's never going to go back the opposite way.
If one of the MAAC favorite wins, prob looking at a 15 seed. If you have a really good season you are probably looking at a 13 seed like Iona got last year. I mean at the end of the day what's the difference really between the 2 seeds? You aren't greatly rewarded by having an awesome season vs mediocre season. And if you do get the better seed you can still get screwed with terrible draws like UCONN who had no business being a 4 seed.
