This morning, the line on the ESPN site shows Iona -5.5. I just don't understand why, even if we did win AT FF. In that game Panzo was great from deep, but all season he's been up and down. FF is ahead of us in the League standings, and like us seem to be trending upwards. Are we getting more 'love' because we're playing at home, or just because of our reputation?
Or is it mostly due to Ken Pom?

Or is it mostly due to Ken Pom? Based on our metrics and FF's metrics, KenPom has us as a 4 point favorite last I saw. Pretty sure Vegas, who doesn't want to put any effort into analyzing a game 100 people will bet on, just opens with that. Then you have a number of rapacious gamblers who know nothing about the MAAC but who have heard of Iona and not Fairfield placing money on the Gaels. |

Perhaps it confirms that the Gaels won't be facing an uphill battle against Mount Yetna.

It won’t be easy, and tonight’s a tough one,but I’m thinking big the next 4 games, sweep the home weekend and sweep the Buffalo trip! Then we have something going and we can start thinking about another NCAA bid as we are use to doing this time of year!

It won’t be easy, and tonight’s a tough one,but I’m thinking big the next 4 games, sweep the home weekend and sweep the Buffalo trip! Then we have something going and we can start thinking about another NCAA bid as we are use to doing this time of year! Weekend sweep is essential. |
