Not good if this is true! It’s a burner. Infer at your will. Iona86 is right about how we are going to navigate the new NIL era as a mid imo.

Gordon gave the Iona fans some very memorable performances in his relatively short career as a Gael. Perhaps his best performance was against Fairfield at home scoring 35 points shooting 13 for 18 from the field and equally as impressive, knowing his struggles from the free throw line, 8-14 (57% wow) from the line! Add in the 12 rebounds that day and Greg Gordon had a real career day in a win against an improved Stag team! In today's world, setting basketball aside for a moment, Greg Gordon is part of a totally different generation of young adults whose whole lives are influenced by instant gratification, opportunities and influences, never seen before. I do not know Greg Gordon and I wish him well. I hope for his sake and his family, he finds whatever he is looking for and the happiness we all seek. May God watch over the young man and help him find whatever he needs or is looking for. Now back to basketball. Greg Gordon will be extremely missed on this team. Yes he was an exceptional @6'4" tall, well built athlete, who played bigger and stronger than he actually was and the MAAC level of play was great for him! Greg had terrific hands, was extremely quick, especially around the basket and has a real knack at the MAAC level of scoring the ball off the drive within ten feet of the basket. We all know his glaring weakness was from the line as was his outside shot. How will this year's team replace the spark that Greg Gordon was? Does this team have the skill sets and leadership to survive the loss of Gordon and jell as a team? Well that is a real challenge for our new head coach and his remaining players to figure out. When Providence College's star player and leading scorer and rebounder and bull of a player Bryce Hopkins went down with an ACL injury after 14 games, the 11-3 Friars faced a similar crossroad. Their rookie coach and the team had private meetings and together rallied after four rocky games to find a way to crawl back, retool the team to a very respectable 18-9 record so far. Now Providence's star didn't abandon his team, however my point is they, the team and the coach, rose thru adversity and have earned a lot of respect for how they have handled their situation. I hope our team can unite and believe in themselves enough and be motivated by themselves first and then the coach, to find the inner strength and confidence to close out this year strong as a team. The chances are many of these kids will never play together again, so the question is how bad do they want to play together now? Do they believe in themselves enough to do the impossible? They know the competition, do they believe if they band together they could win the MAAC? I hope a few real leaders emerge and they create their own memories by banding together. Memories that will last them a lifetime! Go Gaels!

Jim, I have no idea. But I am reading a lot of NIL stuff, in the Gordon Gone thread.

Not good if this is true! Burner account is doubtful in terms of veracity or reliability. If account does reflect Greg’s view this would suggest immaturity on the part of the player. Tobin has never had a reputation for unreasonable demands or for throwing his players under the bus.

Things getting crazy on Twitter. First the burner and now Gordon "liking" this tweet. He's not helping himself. BTW, he was already making calls asking about the transfer portal

Look at it this way; coaches try to help players develop their game, which includes emotional development. If a player is resistant to that best for all concerned that the player finds a new environment. There is a very big difference between Juco and D1. Some players navigate that well. Others not so well.

Has word leaked out that GG has left because of NIL? Why do you think NIL had anything to do with it?

Has word leaked out that GG has left because of NIL? Why do you think NIL had anything to do with it? Scoring 30 a night might’ve had something to do with it. Could be as simple as him believing he is worth more than what his current package was.

IF that's the case, well then he got unbelievably bad advice. Bailing on your teammates with 6 games left outweighs scoring 50ppg Honestly don't think NIL has anything to do with this
