Maybe someone should have told Tobin we were playing Purdue tonight instead of Manhattan Manhattan played like FDU tonight against Purdue. And Iona looked like a bad High School team |

No need to get on each other.
Two things can be true.
Yes he deserves a break for putting together a whole new team.
Yes he has not done a great job coaching this year.
But the season ended when GG quit.

It’s a talent issue. Specifically, not enough talent and reliance on players with sadly mismatched skills in terms of the roles they are being asked to play. Of the experienced players the closest thing we had to an alpha was Gordon, and he was an undersized, albeit athletic, ball hog with a temperamental nature who quit on the team. Tobin could have done a better job too but this is a talent issue. We will have 7-10 new players next year as well. We’ll see if he can recruit a better team |

When we hired Pitino I wasn’t happy with it. You can go back and look at the discussion. For one thing I felt it would end badly. And it did, although I didn’t anticipate an entire team would move on and the one guy who would return would get injured before his final season started and never regain his former self. Without a healthy Os the only big we have is Sultan, who I think will be a good college player but who is a first year guy. He looks to me to be about 6’6. The lack of size has been a problem all year. Gordon getting the NIL jitters took off early to go make some money I think. And that didn’t help as he was our best rebounder and inside scorer. NIL has and will change a lot. Buckle up.

The only way this team can win the MAAC tourney is for Tretout, Quigley, Panzo and OZ to each have their best game of the season in 4 consecutive games.
Unfortunately you might have a better chance with a mega ball ticket.

I pointed out in the chat that Iona has the uncanny ability to make a poor team look stellar. Manhattan was hot from the outside in the first half and they smartly worked it down low to their big in the second half. That and the fact that our team played disinterested for the entire game.
