Players are all arriving next weekend for summer classes and practices it looks like. Hopefully Joebird will then be able to enjoy his summer.

I think it's more likely than not that one won't work out and if I had to put money on it I would bet on at least one not working out. If I spent time researching I'm very confident you would see as of late May the past 10 years almost all did not have a final roster. However this was before NIL contracts, so I do admit that now it is more likely for the roster to stay intact through November than it was in the past, but that being said with so many possibilities for someone to be unhappy with their situation or have something go wrong, I still expect this not to be the final roster come November.

And keep in mind Summer practice is also basically a tryout period for the 13. If Tobin is highly confident one of these kids doesn't belong here, I'm sure he will do everything he can to convince the kid he is better off elsewhere, or tell the kid that. This goes both ways.

You know that there is a chance you are getting hit by a bus if you don't look. Being aware of that is not living your life constantly afraid, there is a difference. Any of you guys every see actuarial tables? Anyone out there have Life insurance? Holy crap it's like most of you think you need to turn a blind eye to reality. Bad things can happen, realizing that is part of life, and being prepared for what lies ahead. And in this situation who knows but the roster could end up better if there is indeed a change come opening day.

I'm fairly certain that if someone doesn't end up coming for whatever reason, they've got Plan B (and C, and D, and E) ready to go. There are hundreds of kids still in the portal that won't even get an offer. Same with JUCOs. Heck, Siena's leading scorer from last year is still in the portal LOL!

gaelsiona posted in a different thread that our roster is much improved this year. And that is my opinion, also. But my hope is that we get to see the team on the court well before the start of the season. Because truth be told it's hard to form an opinion based upon stats and videos w/o taking into consideration the level of competition. And IF the team is as good as most of us think it is, I would hope that TA would want to show it off to the Iona community. Fingers crossed. IC59, if you know how or can get help figuring out how to, can you send me a direct message using the "Messages" feature on the top of this board? Thanks!

All you can do really is one of two things: 1) worry, worry, worry that someone won't work out and if that happens say man this sucks; or 2) not worry and enjoy yourself and if it happens say man this sucks.

Thanks for the advice, I'm worried sick about this! Where in any of my posts do I say I am even concerned about this likely possibility. Anyway some of you are just busting my chops and some of you, well ... I'll stop there. I'm done posting or responding to this subject.

Looking both ways doesn't always cut it. Not too long ago I was crossing a street, and I did look both ways. And I'm not going to tell you what a pigeon did to me.
