Excuse my faulty memory, but I'm assuming that it was us. Details, would be greatly appreciated. We led UConn at the half, at which point Pitino climbed into the limo and got from Albany to Queens before the final buzzer sounded. Pitino did a wonderful job coaching for 24 minutes. Too bad the games are 40 minutes.

Caitlin Clark, while not winning the Tournament, has won the battle to make Women's BB the sport for young girls to play. And I'm basing this opinion on my youngest granddaughter (very small sample size) who is in the eighth grade. A year ago, three of the better players on her team, announced that they were giving up BB to concentrate on Lax and Tennis. Now, heading into HS, all three indicated that will be returning to BB. Like I said it's only a very small sample size, but I can see it happening across the country. And naturally, I'm hoping that we'll see a big jump in attendance at our Women's games.
1970 I believe is involved with coaching girl's BB, and ask if he sees greater interest in BB?

Yes, even my friends watched the games this weekend.

1970, I meant more interest on the part of young girls in playing the sport.

Had to laugh at the announcers at last night's game, although possibly it wasn't the announcers, but the promo people. They kept mentioning that the game was being played in Phoenix, and then I saw the box and saw that it was played in Glendale, AZ, about 20 miles away.

MSM coach to Syracuse as Assistant. I guess getting paid more and had enough of NIL. Think you’re going to see more mid major coaches do this. NIL and the transfer rule making it impossible to run a program.

NIL and the transfer rule making it impossible to run a program. It's turning the low and mid majors into glorified prep school leagues for the power conferences. What's worse is the effect on team basketball since NIL motivates individual statistics over winning. The whole thing sucks and I imagine it's privately changed the outlooks of a lot of mid and low major head coaches.

Guy, thanks. This tells me that when a coach passes his 'prime' and it doesn't seem as important to run your own program, then just follow the money. NIL and the Portal has taken the fun out of coaching, with the constant roster turnover. A young coach can hang in there with the hope that things will become more normalized (or at least return to the way things were). Crazy times.
