Jalen Barr – 6’4” SG/SF from Charlotte, NC, via Flagler College (D2). He is a 2X conference defender of the year. A tough, athletic defender who is great off the boards. Started out at Caldwell (JUCO) where he averaged 9.7pts and 7.5 rebounds per game. This past season he averaged 9 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He led his team in rebounds, steals and blocked shots.
His recruiting out of high school was hurt as he had a football leg injury that kept him out of hoops his senior season.
Was slowed down a bit as he was still recovering form torn ALC , MCL, PCL, LCL, and meniscus the year before, but put up the same numbers though he averaged less minutes due to his recovery. Was not 100% until midseason. He has to be tough coming back from that kind of injury. Offensively, he reminds me of Kelvin Amayo a bit.

Love the 2x DPOY award… that equates to athleticism and a mindset of high effort.
As we learned from BJL, not everyone needs to put up major offensive numbers.
