There was a thread somewhere, maybe X, on musicians who performed at Iona. One thing that was missing was that Don McLean (American Pie) attended Iona.

Believe there were also a few major political speeches given at Iona back in the 60’s and 70’s. I am sure others on the board would know better than me.

Class of ‘69. I remember Beach Boys, Lovin’ Spoonful and, of course,Don McLean.
I also remember Muhammad Ali.

George Carlin performed his stand-up somewhere late 80s I believe.

I believe that Brother Ruane was the driving force behind bringing in many of the performers to Iona. He later left the Brothers, and I read that on his deathbed he reached out to the ICB's to pray with him in his dying days.
