Since I am presently in Virginia, it would be a criminal offense not to watch NASCAR. If you missed the start of the Daytona 500, you missed a simple lesson that seems to be beyond the NFL's understanding. That lesson? HAVE THE NATIONAL ANTHEM PERFORMED BY A CLASSY SINGER (who happens to be very attractive) WHO HAS A GREAT VOICE AND PERFORMS THE ANTHEM TO HONOR OUR NATION AND DOESN'T MAKE IT ABOUT THE SINGER! Compared to Martina McBride, Christina, and the NFL, should be ashamed!

Agreed. Of note, Josh Groban did a great job on the National Anthem at the NBA All Star Game last night at Staples Center. Nothing flashy, but with a strong voice.
Another thing that drives me nuts is ... one does not "perform" the National Anthem, one "sings" the National Anthem. For example, it should be something like; "Please rise and honor America, as ____________ sings our National Anthem." It should not be considered entertainment or a performance ... Just saying.
