But those days are over and they have yet to beat us when it counts -- at the MAAC Tourney.
Great game plan by Tim Cluess and execution by the team.
Let's get another "W" tomorrow.
Go Gaels!!!

1 down!!
A bit sloppy in the first half but we totally took control and owned them down in the second half.
Looks like the Glover of December is back!!

Life in the mid-major fast lane. Saints are down and it is now our turn to rise. They had a great run and I hope this is the beginning of a similar run for the Gaels.

RR is a fellow Msgr. Farrell alum so I wish him well. I have high regard for the accomplishments of Siena over the past few years. However, their run is over and I am sure their "fans" will be calling for Mitch's head.
Go Gaels!!!

Great night, once they got rolling they were unstoppable. Unfortunately I am going to have to amend my thoughts on the tournament. I will now be very disappointed if we don't win this.

The team played great and Tim Cluess coached a hell of a game.
Though I love kicking the crap out of Siena it was sad to see RR go out like this. He had a great career and we were lucky to be able to watch him develop his game in the MAAC. Good luck to him in the summer league and I hope he gets a shot at the bigs... if not, I wish him luck in Europe.

While I feel for my fellow Msgr. Farrell alum, RR, I was happy we beat SC handily. I can't believe that the Christian Brothers couldn't convince him to go to Iona.
Plus, I like the fact that the Gaels made a statement. Not only 8 in a row, but dominating in the win.
Just keep the "W"s coming -- one game at a time, Gaels!
Go Gaels!!!

The team played great and Tim Cluess coached a hell of a game. Though I love kicking the crap out of Hayseed Nation it was sad to see RR go out like this. He had a great career and we were lucky to be able to watch him develop his game in the MAAC. Good luck to him in the summer league and I hope he gets a shot at the bigs... if not, I wish him luck in Europe. Happy win the win. Monster games for Glove, Machado and Smyth. The rest of the guys were OK. Alejo good when he played. If he gets in foul trouble next game, I will be very worried. Pelch is lost again, big time.

Glover and Machado looked like they were on a mission. Hope that continues. Really think the 10PM game winner is at a huge disadvantage, especially since Iona starters rested the last 5 minutes. I expect to win tomorrow and than a classic vs Fairfield on Monday.
Side note I bought all session passes in November and I am the only Iona fan on the other side. I guess I should have waited. May have to move if we make it to Monday as I'll be among-st a sea of red.

Congrats. You guys were fantastic tonight. Iona was by far the better team especially the last 15 minutes of the game. We will be back. It may take some time. Buster Olney wrote the last night in the Yankee dynasty, tonight was the last night in the Sien-a dynasty Good luck the rest of the season.

Thanks MTS, classy post. We can only hope that we can have 3 straight NCAA appearances and a NCAA win. You guys had a great run. Mid major basketball is very cyclical.
