Iona will play the winner of Buffalo-Western Michigan on Tuesday at a site to be determined. I have heard that Buffalo will not pay to play a home game at any point in the tournament, and it should be noted that Western Michigan will have hosted 2 games already. This suggests to me that Iona will be hosting on Tuesday, though it's not a completely done deal.
At this point, I'd like to see us host this game, then go on the road for the semis and then host the finals. Not sure how likely that is, but we'll see.

I hope your source is better than mine. I had heard that we would not consider hosting until the semis AT THE EARLIEST. Your scenario sounds much better to me.

1 home game would be sweet, 2 is off the charts! Let's hope!

Well, I have a source from Buffalo that they will not be hosting a game "under any circumstances." I can see us ending up at WMU, that was just me wondering whether WMU would really host a third game in this thing with potentially 2 more games to go. Re neither Iona nor Buffalo not wanting to host, the CIT would give the home game to Iona, even if they reduce the price for us--BELIEVE ME, it's better for their rep as a tourney if Iona wins this thing than if anyone else does.

Is there any concern about A-Rod being ok? is the anything on Kyle's injury? I know it's his shoulder....and his arm is in a sling...but nothing else.

I'm confused on this whole CIT payment thing.
How much does it cost to have a home game?
Who gets the money and what does it pay for?
Who gets any leftover profit?
Do schools have to pay for each game they host?
What would happen if all remaining teams refused to host?

From my best understanding (and I don't claim this to be factual) to host a game, a school must pay a fee to the tourney and also pay the travel expenses to the visiting team. I believe Hawaii estimated their per game for home games to be $50,000.00 per - of course that means travel expenses to transport the visiting team from the mainland to Hawaii. I have heard an estimate for Iona to be around $40,000.00 per game.

Ok, if that's true, I've got to think that we have $80 grand to spend on our marquee sport. No offense to any other sport, especially X Country which is magnificent, but Men's College BB and Football generate potentially the most positive publicity for the school in terms of athletics. And we don't have a football team. So, for me its a no-brainer, but easy for me to say as I don't pay the bills.

Wouldn't you cover that expense with the gate?
2,000 x $20= $40,000.

Wouldn't you cover that expense with the gate? 2,000 x $20= $40,000. There is no way we would cover that. We can barely get students to show up and they get free tickets. They sure aren't going to pay $20 to see Iona in a tournament that most students know little or nothing about. If Iona is going to host, we are going to have just admit it is going to be a losing proposition financially. It is going to come down to whether or not the publicyt/notoriety is worth the expense. Maybe we should "charge' Seton Hall a finder's fee since they now have our former AD, head basketball coach and assistant basketball coaches

As far as game outcome, I really don't think it matters to this team where the games are played... along with success, they've had their share of some not-so-steller performances with good fan support (Vermont, Rider, MAAC final)... but I do hope we can get another home game somewhere along the way.

With 2:51 left in the first half, Western Michigan is up, 23-22.

Final just in Buffalo 49 WMU 48. Now what? Do we actually get a home game Tuesday, or does the CIT send us far away? Any thoughts? Guy get those sources working!
