They played a great game last night before dropping a tough loss to Duke in the final 3 minutes. The Marist ladies lost their MAAC tourney MVP with 5 minutes left in first half. Despite that they built up double digit leads before finally falling. A Duke freshman by the name of Gray really turned the game at the end with her intensity and hustle. Marist women get nothing but praise from this Gael. BTW, NCAA really has to change their process of allowing top seeds to have home games in the opening rounds.

Never comment on Women's but I thought Duke getting a home game was completely bogus. Marist getting a 10 seed was also ridiculous.

In the closing seconds, Marist had an open look at a three with the score, 66-69. It didn't miss by much and the final was 66-71. A good game.

I completely agree Doom and joebird, home games are Bogus. Also agree about the seeding. Something I don't usually complain about, but how does the commity justify a 10 seed for a team that had a 26 game winning streak, beat other ranked teams (Nebraska), beat Louisville, Villanova, and Houston and completed dominated their conference? The thing is that when they do that it's not just unfair to them, but the teams that play them. Iowa State, a deserving 7 seed did not deserve to have to play what should have been a 4 or 5 seed in the first round. Do you think Duke was happy to have to face Marist in the second round? Something has to change in the womens tournament. I understand it's a hard sell, and givng the home games guarantees at least some audience, but it's not a great way to choose a champion.
