Just some thoughts on the game. I'm hoping that ETSU's offense is better than their defense, because I think that helps us. We lost to SPC because they were so good, defensively. IMO, Jermel will be a key coming off the bench. He was great the other night, but he was also great against Rider, in the MAAC tournament, but then held scoreless by St. Peter's. He has to contribute off the bench. I looked at film clips of MG, playing in earlier games, and it looked like he was elevating more in those games, than he did against Buffalo. Don't know if it's the long season, or an injury. Not having to play on consecutive days helps Alejo. He seemed to have a high energy level against the Bulls, and if Mike is less than 100%, Alejo is more important. Chris Pelcher is really benefitting from the expanded season. Playing with more confidence, and he led the team with seven rebounds, in 14 minutes, and also had a blocked shot. Scott has to continue playing at a high level, and must avoid the careless TO's.
Anyone think differently?

Good summation. In one of the post game interviews, I thought I heard Cluess use the cliche, "we're playing with house money now"... this is a good indication that the team is lose and having fun... I think that's a great attitude to have right now... especially, on the road.
Go Gaels!

59, well said. I am looking to see Scott break out again. Beginning with the SPC game, it looked to me as though he was trying too hard and not getting into the flow (although he eventually did in both CIT games). I have been thinking that he's pressing a bit. He has such talent , he just needs to play a bit looser and let that talent shine through.
Go Gaels!!!

The key to Scott, and any PG obviously, is decision making. He's got a great ability to get into the lane and is a VG passer. He needs, especially next year, to continue to be creative, but continue to be a pass first rather than scoring PG. He needs to make good decisions with an understanding of game situations.

Armand has also benefited from the extra playing time. His defense is getting better. Would still like to see him go to the basket more. Actually, that's one element of Rah's game that we'll miss the most.

The Bucs are a good defensive team. Better defensive than offensive I suppose.

etsufan1, sorry to hear that. Makes them tough to beat, and I was hoping for a different answer. Guy, reference to Sean. Couldn't agree more. I noticed in the Buffalo game, that a Bulls' defender was all over him. He's such a good long range shooter, that I hope he keeps shooting, even if he misses early. Taking the ball to the basket, might be just the ticket to open up his three point shooting.

ETSU is OK defensively, not great. It's not like we're playing St Peter's here, or even Fairfield.

This was a gritty win. Tough place to play; tough opponent on the road. This team didn't panic and kept playing hard. Made important FT's down the stretch. Gritty. Haven't seen that much in the past from Iona teams in big spots.
Outstanding effort guys!!!

Congratulations Iona fans from this bummed out Buccaneer fan. You all deserved to win this one.
Glover was the best post player I've seen at our house since Kenneth Faried of Morehead State a few years ago. Faried was more explosive, but Glover is way more effective around the basket. I noted on our board that Glover is a jump shot and dribble game away from being a fringe-type NBA player. I loved his tenacity, smarts, and footwork.
I also was impressed with Machado's poise and leadership. He was under control the entire game and simply "did his thing".
In any case, best of luck and win this championship. I became a big fan of Glover and will be rooting for you.
