bucfaithful, thanks for your classy post.
Best wishes to ETSU in the future. It was a hard fought game. I was scared to death that we'd be a victim of a buzzer beater.
Go Gaels!!!

Outstanding effort in what seems like a very tough place to play. Bucfaithful, thanks for the kudos. Congrats on the great season and best of luck to you & ETSU next year.

Playing with a sore back, imo, brought out the best in MG. He's a warrior, and must be included in any GOAT discussion of Iona BB. When we lost the opening tip, I was concerned about Mike and his ability to get off his feet quickly. even though I was only listening and not watching. Also, I have to disagree with the ETSU fan who opined that they were better on the defensive end. After only one game, I'll state my take that the Buc's are a better offensive team, and I noted that Murray Bartow said that Iona was a VG offensive team, omitting his opinion of our defense,
JJ took yesterday off, playing only twelve minutes and not scoring, but imo we'll NEED him on Wednesday. And not only his offense. Kevin Foster, Santa Clara guard has had at least two thirty point games in the tourney, and he's VG from long range. I'm expecting Rashown to start on him but he'll need help and JJ is a VG defender, but Jermel will have to score to stay in the game, unless Sean continues en fuego.
Speaking of Sean, I loved seeing him taking the ball to the basket on a couple of occasions. It makes his game more well rounded, something that Kyle discovered late in the season. Also, kudos to Trinity for his clutch foul shooting with the game on the line.
I'll close by saying that I'm expecting a line of around -10 for Iona. Just hope we're not being set up for another St. Peter's, as a lot of friends told me, that they already have put the game in the win column.

Belated congratulations to Gary Stanley, for flying solo on Saturday and doing a great job. Any reason why SID didn't do the color?
