Welcome buckets! You do have a little advantage at this points as we (Gaels) are still under sedation after our game today against ETSU - they gave us all and more than we could have wanted. I guess you guys are coming to NY tomorrow from Texas. Hopefully you get to enjoy the Big Apple and far be it from me to suggest that you over-enjoy. Seriously, we are looking forward to a great game on Wednesday. Congrats on getting to the finals and let's put on a great show for our national audience.

Good to have you visit, buckets. I sent my son to Gonzaga College H.S. in D.C. for a Catholic education. He came out with a Jesuit education. ;-)
Looking forward to Wednesday night.
Go Gaels!!!

It looks like it is an all-Papist championship game: Jesuits vs. Christian Brothers Buckets, congratulations to the Broncos. I read your team was coming to NYC tomorrow... curious if they'll be pitching camp at fellow Jesuit school Fordham or St. Peters. Nothing personal against your Broncos, but since you mentioned the Papist theme, our Christian Brothers do owe the Jesuits some pay back (as you probably owe the "Gaels") I saw some of your game with SMU and was very impressed... I'm expecting a very tough matchup. Whatever the outcome, we should be very proud of both our teams... all the best!

Well should you stay at one your fellow local Jesuit institutions may I suggest Fordham University; after all it is the preeminent catholic university in America (well at least in their minds it is), and referred to in these parts as National U. You may not get that impression at first, but they'll let you know it is. Just avoid talking shop while your there, they've only won about 7 games combined over the last 2 years!

The Broncos play in a tough conference, WCC. Four games a year with Gonzaga and St. Mary's combined. Portand or Portland St., can't recall which, is a very good program. USF has a great history. They are a battle tested group.

ctbill, thanks for the recognition.
yes, the WCC has certainly become a tough conference...and it is only becoming tougher!! BYU is joining the conference next season.
To answer your question, it is Portland (coached by Eric Reveno) and yes they are a very tough program. Luke Sikma plays for them and he is a rebounding animal. USF's program is back on the upswing (coached by Rex Walters -- remember that name?)
FYI -- every school in the WCC is Christian...of course, the conference is dominated by Jesuit schools. ;D
SCU has its own legacy. Our most famous athlete alum is Steve Nash...a close second is Brandi Chastain. Kurt Rambis (former Laker and current Timberwolves head coach) is also a graduate.
Game will be interesting -- not sure that we have enough gas in the tank to win a third straight game on the road. Your forward looks tough. If Foster and Rocq are both on, we will be tough to beat...but lately one has been hot and the other cold.

Agree a big factor in our favor is that we get a home game and you guys have to continue on the road. I think we got in and out of East Tenn. on a charter flight, so that will help. Gonna be tough though as I'm sure your guys will be fired up for a Champ. game. Young legs.
