Thanks for the kind words Buckets. You guys were just too much for us last night. Your point about career games is well taken, and that's how you win championships! When everyone contributes you are firing on all cylinders. If there is a rematch I'll have to find a way to be out there for work so that I can be there in person to see it.

Congrats to Santa Clara. They are a very good, well coached team. They played a great game and really beat us up; we played very poor interior defense and killed on the glass, especially on our defensive end.
Cluess and Machado need to figure out a way to get Glove more touches. He is basically unstoppable at this level - he seemed visibly frustrated at times.
Arod / Rah - Thanks for great memories...You guys were key players in terms of getting Iona back to a top level MAAC Team.
What a fun and exciting season....Looking forward to Big 2011/12!!!

Gaels really missed out on a unique opportunity last night. It was the first CIT game where I think Gaels really missed Smyth.
For me the loss left a bad taste in my mouth. I think I would rather have had the Gaels lose to ETSU or have gone on the road and lose to Santa Clara. For Iona to choke away two championships where we were 8 plus point favorites concerns me for next year's post season. Especially since Machado is thinking the same thing.
Iona needs to play a very tough schedule and win some games, starting in Puerto Rico. I think next year is one of the few years Iona has a chance to be an at large. I want to enter the Maac tournament with a legit shot at getting an at large should Iona choke again.
Instead of me feeling good about this season last night left me disappointed in it. Simply a bad loss.

It was the first CIT game where I think Gaels really missed Smyth. I thought the same thing too about missing Kyle. But I would qualify my opinion more by saying we specifically missed his defense and game instincts. Sean Armand did more than can be expected on offense. Aside from Glove (which is a given) Sean was our only other real scoring option last night.
