If you guys thought we played a fast, exciting high octane style of basketball this year, looks like with these two guys we're turbo charged. I think a 6'10 guy just gets in the way at this point. We're gonna fly. I'm gonna call this team "the Turbo Gaels" Fasten your seatbelts boys. I agree with this as well. If the system is to run and press, then you don't need a true center, or, better said, you can get away with having just 1 on the roster. Pelch's role next year is very clear--to negate the other team's true center, if they themselves have one. There aren't many in the MAAC.

It seems very apparent that TC is sending Pelch a clear message. Those who were sitting behind the bench during the MAAC playoffs may remember an exchange between TC and Pelch during the first half of (I believe) the Rider game. TC made it very apparent that he wanted Pelch to play tougher and be willing to take the charge rather than back away. Within a couple minutes of Pelch stepping on the court in the second half, he took that charge under the boards at the far end of the court. TC nearly jumped out of the building with the fist pump he gave. Message had been delivered and heard loud and clear. It seems that TC is delivering a similar message to Pelch - he will be our only true big man next year. It's up to Pelch to play up to that trust.

Ctbill: I have know idea about the capabilities these two kids possess, but I'll agree with you in this regards; Cluess isn't brining any kids to Iona who'll slow down the game. I expect to see two very athletic guys who can run the floor and keep up the pace. Fasten your seatbelts is right!

We don't need a "big". These guys are perfect. I'm reminded of our last NCAA team that used a combination of Wax and Bruin. Neither guy true centers but did a great job on the boards.

But they got pummeled in the second half by Big Baby and the LSU interior. Guess we will worry about that situation when we get there again.

We seem to have disagreement amongst board members on the need for a "Big" man. I stick with my opinion that if we want to compete with anybody - at any time, a good "Big" will be essential. We have been speaking about the 2011/2012 season for 3 years now as being "the year" for something special. Get the big...

Unless someone leaves, where are we going to get the scholly for a true "Big?"

I'll take it.

I'll take it. You sure you are not a graduate of the Sienna College of Comprehension?? Speaking of your alma mater, I'd like to join them with a couple of wins in the big dance. That pummeling SPC took was not pretty.
