I think some of you old time baseball fans will enjoy this one.
Last night the Cardinals found themselves in a dog fight with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers had just come back from a 5 - 2 deficit to tie the Cards, and had the Cards reeling - perhaps with the season on the line. The Brewers drilled Puljols on his recently injured wrist.
Jason Motte (or as my daughter calls him, Applesauce) was next on the mound for the Cards. Ryan Braun, the Brewers star came up to face Applesauce. First pitch, a rising fastball right at Braun's left shoulder. Braun got out of the way.
Next, the same pitch, moving even more inside, drilled Braun in the back. Jason's enthusiasm in his mission was obvious. Needless to say, he got tossed, and he took that medicine with flair.
The Cards rallied to win the game in the 11th.
My reaction? Man, could we have used a little applesauce from our Chris P. last year. Hope you guys get see some of this on the highlights.
