Everyone should be prepared for some unflattering press that Iona will be receiving in the near future. As far as I know, this is an administrative concern that does not directly reflect on the athletic department.
I am being very vague as I have only received some vague information.

Once again are we supposed to believe that Rosenberg acted alone and that nobody knew what was going on? Brother Liguori had to know that this crap was going on.
I hope President Nyre cleans house with the old guard and brings back some Alums mixed with new blood who will fix this crap.

We're not the ones who need to be prepared. I'll assume that most here; if need be; will be forgiving and supportive; with the right to be disappointed. The question is how much negativity can be publicized before Iona's reputation is severely tarnished? Perception is far more powerful than reality. Is the general public, parent, or government agencies providing grants and loans prepared to hear such news; that's the real question? At this point could you blame anyone for wondering what's going on at Iona?

'86 Bro Ligouri's legacy doesn't look too good with Sister Susie embezzling and this crap. Face it, the Christian Bros. just weren't trained to handle management of a modern college. I think Dr. Nyre has the sophistication and training to clean this mess up. I hope so. We need some modern controls in place. Holy Smokes. |

Had some time to stew on this and it really burns my -ss. While I'm all for academic and athletic success, its far more important to me that the College act with honor and integrity. Anything less is unacceptable and far more embarrassing than a low SAT entrance scores or basketball scores. Geez this makes three embarrassing episodes.

Likely more to come--don't know--just saying. There alway is in these situations.
I knew we were in trouble early on when "we" were touting higher SAT scores for entering frosh, when, in fact, the tests were renormed and everyone had higher scores--by definition.
