Will assume everyone's up to speed on last night's baseball stuff.
Here's a video recap of it all, with time log included. Judging from my Twitter feed, the Red Sox went from being in excellent shape to get in without even a playoff to being elimininated in about 12 minutes. You can probably jump to the midway point of the video to get to just before all the drama unfolded.

Right after Longoria hits the 3 run homer in the 8th; my wife turns and looks at me and says "your a Mets fan and their not even involved, get out." Back downstairs I went to witness an amazing chain of events. College hoops and baseball the only two sports I watch even if I don't have a horse in the race.

A couple hours last night made my investment to DirecTV for the Baseball package more than worth it! I think my remote needs a vacation after I spent time clicking back and forth between the 2 games.

As a New Yorker that works in Conn, this is wonderful . I think the Buckner curse is back. Mr. Bill was on Curb your enthusiasm Sept 4. He relived the famous Mookie ground ball. If you look at the standings around Sept 4,you'll notice the Red Sox sitting pretty. Once this particular episode with Bill Buckner aired on t.v..... well, the rest is history.

Some more great baseball over the course of about 30 days. "7. Jason Motte: La Russa may not want to officially designate Motte is the closer. Which is OK with me; I've never understood the need for a title for guys who pitch the ninth inning with their team in possession of a lead. But Motte was mostly spectacular in finishing out games in the ninth inning. And they needed it after young reliever Fernando Salasbegan to show some signs of fatigue. Motte was overworked for a brief stretch, and it clearly impacted his performance. But during normal usage he was, as they say, lights out. And from June 26 through the end of the season, Motte had a 1.70 ERA with 33 Ks and only 6 walks in 37 innings. Well done." www.stltoday.com/sports/columns/bernie-miklasz/article_552c6eac-eaa5-11e0-8139-0019bb30f31a.html

Also, I believe Jason is eligible for salary arbitration for his next contract. Should get a very nice raise.
