Much like the Canisius/Manhattan combo, I hope we are not Sharp today vs Marist because it means we will be at Rider.

Geez where are you guys? What is this a freakin' funeral? I tried to manage expectations before the Manhattan and Loyola games. So we lost one, so what. We all thought, with help from ESPN, that Iona was head and shoulders better than everyone in the conf. Well Loyola is pretty close, if not just as good. Did we quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Huh? So we're gonna have to grind this out. Let's grind it out. Let's start right now.

Ok let's take our ball and go home because no one in the conf. just rolls over when the mighty Gaels of ESPN show up. This is a dog fight boys. I'd much rather go down fighting. There is no shame in losing to a good team, now or in the MAAC tourney. There is shame in not showing up and fighting till the end.

Bill, excellent posts. The "over" remark reminds me of a game many years ago when we were down by a lot and I posted Bluto's speech, "Over, did someone say over? Nothing is over until we decide it is. . ." we ended up coming back and winning that game.
You are correct. There's still the rest of this season to be played. We need to come out and play with a purpose. Maybe we will get some help from Fairfield today or Manhattan later on, but all we can do is our best. Go out and win and let the chips fall where they may.
As I say to my golfing buddies when they find their ball in a nasty lie, "You put it there". Well, the Gaels put themselves where they are right now and it's time to man up and make the best of things. Play with a purpose, Gaels.
Go Gaels!!!

How many times are we gonna say that "we need to come out and play with purpose. These guys should of learned their lesson and woke up after the Hofstra embarassing performance. When they needed to come out and "play with purpose" against Manhattan and Siena, they laid an egg. They are lazy on the defensive side of the ball, they don't rebound the ball and do not make adjustments
Can we just come to the realization that these guys really don't belong in the same conversations with the top teams in the country. If they are a top tier team, they should beat Marist by 30 tonight.

They flirted with it, but have not played a top tier schedule (not their fault). And have not had top tier results. I don't believe anyone feels they are top tier. However, they can make the NCAAs because they may be the best in the MAAC, which is nowhere near a top tier conference. They would get the 13 seed they deserve. I am good with that. They flirted and teased, teetering on top 40, but they just don't have enough at the post. How can you be top tier with only one solid rebounder?

Who knows what you'll ever get from Gaels, they can play as good as a top 10 team or as bad as the 300th ranked team. They may win by 30 today or they may lose. The only consistent you see is there is no consistency. I don't think all year you have seen the Gaels play 6 straight good halves, in fact not sure if you have seen 4 in a row. Therefore proably the only thing you can predict is they have a stinker left and if I had to guess I would say at home vs Fairfield.
Their best chance to win the Maac tourney may be if they play bad in the quarters and just do enough to win. Then you hope for 3 out of 4 good halves in the next two and the one bad half not be bad enough to result in a loss.

To be fair, Iona could spell Machado at the point with me for the final 5 minutes today, and Iona would still win. I see no scenario in which we lose today.

A win puts us back into a tie for 1st as Fairfield played great defense and shut down Loyola 68-51.
Get it done, Gaels.
Go Gaels!!!

It kills me when Momo hits those "prayers" because that just makes him think that they are good shots and he continues to do it every other possession

Isn't this a home game? ?? it sounds as if there's 10 people in the stands. How about a little student body support?

Good win. No legs in the second half and we still pulled it out. Triple Double for Scott, 10,11,11. Criticize MoMo all you want, he put us on his back in the middle of the game when we had some scoring issues going on. That's tough going down to Balt. and returning right back home to play. Rest up for Wed. night fellas.
