Eurohopes @eurohopes 3h3 hours ago Irish Jordan Blount ('97) from Canarias Basketball Academy is on his way to sign LOI this weekend with Iona College.
Jordan Blount - 6'7" Shooting Guard from Canarias Basketbal Academy. At Next Generation Tournament, playing against some of the best competition in Europe the kid was named to the All Tournament team Top 5 while earning the awards for best forward and best rebounder, but his perimeter play is what put his performance over the top. The kid is quick, excellent first step speed, has a great court vision, can shoot and is tough despite the fact he has not grown into his body. If he puts on 15 pounds of muscle he could be a very good pickup. I don't think he is as accurate from the three as Bebis was but he has a quicker release, is much more athletic and the kid is fearless getting to the hoop. He can also distribute the ball.
After he was "discovered" during a international game against England where he dropped 22 points he was approached by European pro teams for their development programs including Real Madrid and Barcelona but he decided on CBA as he wanted to play Div 1 in the Sates.
This past season he averaged 15.8 ppg and 10.5 rpb in International competition. That included games at the Max Preps Holiday Classic in the US, the U18 Euroleague games and the Spanish and Portuguese championship tournaments.
Check him out.

86, thanks. Is Jordan from Ireland? And if so, where?

First thing I noticed is his ease in using both hands.
A real life Gael that being so late in the process could be a diamond in the rough.
What does this now mean ship wise?

Iona has had a lot of success with the track athletes we have recruited from Ireland. I hope the same applies here.

It's poor that we don't know who's leaving. Why is it such a secret?

It's poor that we don't know who's leaving. Why is it such a secret? You would think that the players leaving would want coaches to know they are available?

It's poor that we don't know who's leaving. Why is it such a secret? Someone posted seemingly very confidant that Bebis and Robinson are gone.
