Agree on momentum--kids were pumped after the game, taking photos of themselves in front of the display of the NBA jerseys of Wake legends. Super, was Mike Palma's Wake jersey on display anywhere?

Don't mean to put anybody down but a couple of the posts reminded me of Siena fans. Refs were not great but WE LET WAKE BACK INTO THE GAME, for the reasons everyone said. Don't want to belabor the point but what got me going were the 1st half foul stats: Iona 0 for 1 in free throws, Wake 11 for 14 from the line. No way to justify that disparity. Yes the fouls evened up later due to Wake committing late game intentional fouls, and yes Iona missed way too many of those shots. That was home cooking going on there especially in the first half. But Iona won anyway, which is the real point. However, nobody is acting like a Tony by pointing out numbers like that.

The AP story on the game said Iona had a rare victory over an ACC team. hello it's only rare because they don't play often, Iona has won the last 3 games against the ACC, things like this drive me crazy.
I remember when iona beat st chicken in 95, the next day one of the Ny papers said iona hadn't beaten St. Chicken since 1979, meanwhile they had only played one other time since 79. Story failed to point out iona had won 3 of the last 5 games against St. Chicken. Writers are just looking for reasons to make mid majors look inferior.

Joebird, Mid major relevance is earned through consistent effort and W's. Wofford reminds me a bit of Dayton from last season. They have the team chemistry to win a game or two in March Madness. At the very least, a 13 seed that no one would want to play. Iona could be in the same conversation. The rebounding issue is the Rubik's cube puzzle which will need to be solved in order for the Gaels to be that "threat" team in the bracket. Let's see if Dublin, Hines, and Robinson can help with this team deficiency.

I'll disagree. Iona has more firepower than most teams in the country. If Iona gets especially hot they could beat just about anyone.

Dont forget that the 3 teams we've faced are all better than like 8-9 MAAC teams.

I don't think that writers are "trying" to make mids look bad. They are just stupid! Don't forget, this is what they do for a living. On an unrelated note, Tianna adding girth. Insane twitter pic.
