Is Damika hurt? I see she hasn't played in the first half of the Wagner game. Reports had her sitting due to breaking team rules. Wagner Seahawks @wagnerathletics 3h WBB: Iona's leading scorer, guard Damika Martinez will not play tonight..."violation of team rules." Correct. Should be back next game.

I was at last night's game and was told that Damika had a slight injury and that she should be back for the next game. Possibly players aren't allowed to get injured and this would be a violation of team rules.
And I have a question. In prior years all tickets to the Women's games were treated as General Admission and you could sit anywhere. This year you have to sit in your assigned ticket location. So last night there were three of us (I was one) sitting in chairback seats and everyone else (200+) was made to sit on the bleacher style seats. Now I would think that the Athletic Department would want to encourage fans to attend the Ladies' games, but they see things differently. And it was comical to see an usher standing guard over a completely empty section of seats. When I asked him about it (with about 10 minutes remaining in the game) he said that President Nyre and his friends might be coming. Well the President never showed. And b/t/w two fans were sitting in the chairbacks and were asked to move. Ludicrous. Do you agree? JMO.

I know they are trying to be more professional, but that is taking it too far.

This is probably worth a whole new thread, but the new athletic administration has definitely changed a lot of things so far. All of it is being done in the best interests of moving the program forward, so I don't have any issues with it personally.

Actually Don, tickets for women's game have been designated as reserved and general admission for several years now. Folks that have purchased season tickets or single-game tickets on the reserved size should have the right to their seats should they choose to attend which is the reason we have ushers stationed on the reserved side. We are enforcing this policy due to complaints from a handful of our season ticket holders. As a result of switching benches to the opposite sideline a majority of our crowd has moved to that side. Friends & family of student-athletes for both teams naturally gravitate behind their benches. Any questions, drop me an e-mail!
