R we the worst defensive team in the country? If we're not it's close. UNI is a team they score 43 points in their last outing. 55 the time out before that and 68 the game before that. We score a lot but allow our opponents to score more. Hey Gregcrow...have we ever lost 4 in a row under TC? I've already done my research. It's happened once before.

Little mentality for deflected passes, shots taken a couple of feet from your comfort zone. Defense wins games.Iona is killing me.

Looks like we're in for a long season. Blech. I disagree. We will benefit from the lousy play of MAAC opponents and compete with Manhattan for tops in the conference. We will probably lose one or both games against Manhattan because at the moment we are not ready for big games. The true indicator of what kind of a team we are in my opinion is how we perform out of conference and clearly it wasn't good. But as far as MAAC play goes we should be close to elite. Should we be fortunate enough to reach NCAA again if imagine we would see a repeat of what we saw most recently against OOC opponents.

My optimism tells me that we will learn and become stronger and benefit from what we mistakes are being made. Hell, we can only get better..............

Thoughts:
What is up with the Midwest refs, these hicks don't like the city boys, Northern Iowa probably wins this game without their help but both T's were obvious attempts at saying no New Yorkers are coming in here and winning this in our house.
The defense is still pathetic, please Cluess dedicate more time to defense in practice and I wouldn't mind Laury spending 45 minutes of every practice shooting free throws.
Gaels are not going to win Maac road games unless Laury starts hitting free throws, this has resulted in his entire game regressing.
Probably have to go with Laury and Hynes in starting lineup.
Hynes-has a bright future
Bowman- has lost all confidence, benching this kid doesn't help, they need him.
English- an off night
Gomez-love this kid, must play more. In the first half Cluess pulled him after his first defensive possession for a missed assignment, if he pulled every Gael for a missed defensive assignment Gaels would be playing 0 on 5, ridiculous by Cluess.
Sledge- needs to have confidence to shoot open 3
Poole-only kid on team that hustles, plays d and rebounds, saw a stat on twitter that Gaels are +9 with him in lineup, as long as he doesn't shoot too much he contributes
Armand- sometimes tries to do too much but need him to play very well to win maac
Robinson-Cluess said out 3-4 weeks, didnt say why
Ellis- Cluess trying to give him a chance but he isn't doing much
I Williams- should be back next game, didnt say why out.
Team will be similar to last year in the Maac but unless the defense can improve by Maac tourney time and Laury can start hitting free throws they won't win 3 games in 3 nights and with this OOC record may be lucky to make cit.

The MAAC will test us in up tempo games and half court games. We need to improve on defense and develop continuity with line up's and substitution patterns.
Safe to say Hines and Gomez should be logging more minutes as the season rolls along.
Contrary to others, I do feel Williams and Robinson will be key contributors as the season moves on. Both can add valuable bench minutes and both offer different skill sets. I'm hopeful Williams absence is temporary.

Referees were borderline criminal tonight. Lots of positives to take away from this game.
