Have to disagree about their guards being inexperienced: 1. Hearst is a 3rd year junior. 2. S.Shannon is a second year (Juco) senior. 3. U.Shannon, while playing in his first year with "Q" is a fifth year senior. Previously played for USF (South Florida?) Experience is over rated. It's all about desire. Now Chels. Don't get all testy because you were schooled. :-) Sent from my HTC6435LVW using proboards

Way to go GuyF! How dare he challenge you. Does he know who you are? You are the "Richard Sherman" of hoopdom. Push him to the baseline.

This game should be an interesting test for our team. Quinny beat us last year at a neutral site and ambushed us early in the game at their campus a few weeks ago. Now the Gaels should know what to expect and hopefully our 3 point shots will be draining like theirs were last time. Quinny is a hard team to figure out; they proved they could beat Iona and Manhattan back-to-back at home, but they have lost to St. Peter's and Rider on the road. Hopefully their MAAC road woes will continue on Friday night.

No line as yet......My guess.....Iona -2......Home Court.....Williams starting to bloom.....See team starting to understand that all need to contribute with individual skills leading to team cohesion.
Did not Coach Cluess get his 100 victory as a Gail recently...Quite a achievement in 4 1/2 years, particularly when your schedule includes teams a cut above MAAC level...Don't remember any well deserved accolades....
Correct me if I am wrong.......25.....25.....22.....20.....and 9 so far this year.....101..........

WOW...........Opening line just came out......Surprising.....Iona opens as a 6 1/2 favorite...And I got the reputation of always over rating the Gails...!!!!!

The odds makers have been way too generous to Iona this season. They made us a 6.5 point favorite last week against the Griffs, too, and we all know how that worked out. I think Iona and Quinnipiac are even on a neutral court, so we should be a 2-3 point favorite given the home advantage. But 6.5 seems excessive.

05.......How long do you think they would last if they continually favorite a certain team...They figure every factor even the psychological factor at the time of each meeting.....They no doubt have taken into consideration Iona' comeback in last meeting plus the rising Williams...

I knew we were killed off the boards in the first game, but a look at the box score, showed that they also had more threes (8-6), holding us to our second lowest three point total, this season.

Joe, good catch. B/t/w, in our first game we turned them over 12 times. If we put our small (defensive) team on the floor, could we increase their TO's to 15+? Or is Iona and defensive team an oxymoron?

I see us winning this game plain and simple, they caught us on a bad shooting night which caused us to get in a funk. I predict rebounding will be an issue again tonight but I don't see them bullying us like last game. Lastly we are on our home court which we tend to play a lot better. My prediction 95-84 IONA!!

Joebird......When I had the stroke I spent about 1 year recovering in the hospital...It was a lost year, and with it the record mix up...Both my family and Doctors have said that this board and the mental activity it created has had a great deal to do with my recovery...I am now working on walking and have progressed to the point where with walker I can make it from room to room...
Thanks to all.....My Grandson will be my aid, and take me to tonights game...Say hello........I am looking forward to a high scoring victory..........

I was there at the Maac championship the night of your stroke. I, and I am sure other regular posters, are amazed at your recovery. You can see the tremendous improvements you have made since your return to the board, it's very impressive. I always enjoy reading your posts. Hopefully you can get out to as many games as possible the rest of they year.

I have noticed the mention of Amayo and his possible use as the point...........After a summer practice session Amayo came over to say hello...Very personal kid who was disappointed he could not play this year, but could not wait to get started...I will say this.....he is about 6-4 6-5 with a very strong mature body, and will be a handful physically for MAAC point guards, a position I am surprised to learn he can play.....I am sure that he will take off some of the responsibility that English took on, and A.J will continue to blossom and thrive...
