Very nice game. Tough rebounding and very effective D. Well done. Let's build on this.

Williams doing all the little things you need to win. AJ did a good job getting under their skin.

IW did not put up big numbers but he played good D and deflected the ball all night long and did a lot of the dirty work. Has made a big difference on this team. I like the small lineup. DL looks like he has a little more hop to his step off the bench. Good team win. Now got to St. Peter's Sunday and take care of business

Quinny not the same without the big guy but still great to see Iona play d and rebound, as well as win by so much on an off night from 3.
Some Player comments-
Sledge must be hurt resulting in Gomez likely outplaying him in practice and therefore getting the backup pg minutes.
Britton Williams appears gone.
Poole's early rebounding set the stage for the big win, he is an important part of the success of this team. He has grown on me.
IW great motor changes the Gaels from a .500 team to a maac title contender.
Laury gets some ridiculous fouls called on him, he doesn't even touch people and they call fouls on him, must be his positioning on d.
Overall great effort.

IW just looks like a high major body and player.

Apart from those turnovers against Canisius, AJ has done a pretty credible job at the point for a guy learning a new position. So instead of cherry picking that game, maybe we give him some credit for all the good work he's done? Bill, usually agree with you. He's too valuable off the ball without the pressure of PG. He will be the best OG in the MAAC next year.

This game could be summed up in 4 words - no Drame, no drama.

Excellent game tonight! TC must have been reading the board ?. Glad he started the small line up. The energy was much better and Sean reminded me of last years Sean (on his toes, great effort and energy). Drame missing helped but I feel if we meet Quinny in the MAAC tourney, our experience may be the difference. Can't say enough about Poole and Williams. These 2 guys may be our X factor regarding Iona's ability to win the conference.

Can't cry about Drame missing for them, Beamon missed time and Iona has been banged up and lost IW for a bit too. Solid performance.
SPC is the dreaded trap game. And next Friday is the Joebird danger game, we will have a packed, pumped crowd and we tend to lose those games.

We will now refer to "big balls" seats as the lucky seats. On a separate note, I was watching the Espn3 telecast and was trying to figure out who was screaming at the top of their lungs. Was it coach Tom Moore, an assistant coach or some deranged fan? Thanks

Ryan Jones @ryan_a_jones 8m Iona-Quinnipiac game got heated. Former QU star and current Iona Asst. Coach Jared Grasso had words with Bobcats head coach Tom Moore.
