Believe sledge is headed to SUNY purchase, although not sure if confirmed. Hopefully the guys on the Puchase Board won't be as critical as OT and I. And Purchase Board too

Back to basketball talk, we need 2 of the non big three to contribute just a little. I look forward to seeing who that will be. Feel pretty confidant we will have a very good team barring an injury to the big 3. My guess is Amayo, Casimar, Hines and Dublin will all be a big part of this team. My gut says this will be another fun year. Cluess just knows how to win and one day we will hit big with him at the helm.

I think we'll have a late addition to our roster, but don't know whether he'll be a walk-on or a scholarship player. He looks to be about 6'5 and is from SC. Seems like a very nice young man and will have four years of eligibility. Don't know anything about him, other than his first name is Shantee (Sp?) and last name is something like Levelle. 86, do you know him?

I can't find anything close to someone fitting that profile. I'd ask SID when they will be adding the walk-ons to the roster.

[I can't find anything close to someone fitting that profile. I'd ask SID when they will be adding the walk-ons to the roster.[/quote] Are we really reduced to hopefully discussing a player who was a red shirt for what was arguably one of the worst (3-26) Div.2 teams in the country?.... Right now we are reduced to 10 players that are ready to take a active role...As I previously posted, I am suspicious that this has caused the possible loss of this years 'Meet the Gails' game...The mystery player IMO seeing a longshot playing chance at (down the road Iona)grabbed at the chance he was hopefully awaiting...Iona with its temporary practice player shortage gratefully accepted... Ordinarily this would be cause for great worry but the faith I have in Coach Cluess is such that he would not start the season with a nucleus of 3 high caliber players without the surroundings necessary to complete a very successful year...He has shown no signs of concern or panic, and I will follow...

Continuing with Walk-on thoughts...................... Many years ago at one of those 4 team Tournaments Iona use to hold... Our gang attended....Out of the locker room came at pre-game entrance what we thought was the Russian Army...By my count there were 20 opponent players...I am pretty sure the team was Dartmouth. I was later told that the walk-ons had to pay their way and that they would mostly only dress or attend home and riding distance games...I was also later to find out that for the most part it was done for reasons in later life resumes and bragging rights that they had once played Div.1 basketball for Dartmouth, and attempts were made to get them seconds of time in large margin games..... A question for knowledgeable fans.....What are the current rules and regulations that govern Walk-ons participations.? In the meantime I'll continue my quest to discover answers...

OT, I don't have the answer to your question, but I remember the game. It was against an Ivy League team, possibly Dartmouth, and I was told that since the Ivy did not allow scholarships, the rules were different for them. I don't know the rules, or even if the Ivy now offers scholarships.

In my research I found that this player was considered the greatest walk-on in college basketball history... We should be so lucky... Scotty Pippen........

Hard to imagine anyone bragging they played basketball for Darrmouth.

ctbill, a little before your time, but former Laker great, Rudy LaRusso, was a Dartmouth grad, and was married to a Tuckahoe girl. And b/t/w OT, a game not too long ago, we played a home game against Bucknell, and they had about 16 guys on the bench. And the Patriott League, at the time, might have been a no-scholie league.
