Hopefully, Kai Mitchell follows through on his commitment to Iona, after a year at Prep school. Yesterday, Spring Valley defeated Saunders, Yonkers, 74-72 in a closer than expected game. Ricky McGill led the team in scoring with 20 points, but it was Kai that starred with a quadruple-double with 15 points, 19 rebounds, 10 assists and 11 blocks. Pretty impressive.

Zags is saying that Shamorie Ponds from Jefferson in BK has been offered by Iona. Didn't see that info anywhere else - but he would be "perfect for our system." Similar to Casimir - he's small and can light it up. Had 44 against Hayes a few weeks ago. Only issue I can envision might be qualification - tons of kids do not leave Jefferson qualified to play - so that would have to be priority #1 - if we get seriously involved. The Johnnies and Minnesota are also now involved. Fordham has been for awhile.

Interest from Arizona State The kid has a sweet stroke and he gets to the hoop well.

Unique McLean - 6'1" SG from the MacDuffie School and Team Scan. The kid gets to the hop with ease, can shoot the three, had=s a very good handle, has serious hops and is very athletic. Pins shots on defense all day long... has great timing. His dunks could compete in an NBA dunk contest. I expect him to go high major. Has offers from Dayton, Detroit, Siena, St. francis, Fordham, Manhattan, SPU, BU, Rutgers, JMU, VCU, Fairfield and Duquesne. Interest from Cincinnati, UCONN, Pitt, Providence, Robert Morris and Temple. Alex Kline reporting that Mclean is visiting Iona and Fordham tomorrow

Varsity Insider @lohudinsider 3h3 hours ago Iona College offered Greece Athena junior Anthony Lamb after tonight's game. Lamb was the MVP of the Slam Dunk w/24 points and 14 rebounds.
Anthony Lamb 6' 6" SF/PF- plays AAU for Albany City Rocks - had 24 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks, playing against Iona commit Kai Mitchell.... but most of his surge in the 2nd half came when Mitchell was on the bench due to foul trouble. Lamb also dropped 23 points and eight boards against the Prep the other night. Lamb is reported to be a very hard worker. A player with lots of good traits. He has good footwork in the paint, good hops, hustles, can shoot the J out to about 18 and uses either hand well down low. He is athletic and tough to stop inside. Very tough off the glass. He has offers from Fairfield, Stony Brook, Buffalo, Charlotte, Canisius, Niagara and Siena.

I like the fact that he can shoot the 3, the mid-range and can drive to the basket.
