Has there been any news on how the other MAAC teams made out in scrimmages/exhibitions? I heard from an insider that of the remaining ten teams; 5 won,4 lost and one team (I believe Quinny) tied.

Has there been any news on how the other teams made out in scrimmages/exhibitions?[/quote] There is little doubt that Siena probably took a drubbing from Army... Some clue leading comments...... Some coaches actually think its better to lose as it gets team ready.... Tony their ringleader said he knows the games are meaning less because he attended one 10 years ago...On and on it goes... They seem to be caught up in some sort psyche that propels them into fantasy land that only allows thoughts of a world they think it should be which forbids entry to reality...It is a serious case of mass hysteria that feeds off each others mindsets.....A trace back to this problem no doubt goes back to Siena's glory days a few years ago which grew a complex that gave birth to a malignancy of superiority... They refuse to realize that these basketball lusts can only come by hard work and team improvement which cannot be rushed by ''Saying its so.''

Guys.. don't jump to any conclusions regarding the scrimmage. They are usually broken into two or three sections and while a player might have scored, we have no idea if they did it against first, second or third string players. Lets wait and see how things go. They are as meaningful as preseason baseball.

If a day passes without relative postings followed by posts such as...'Anyone have any information as to our scrimmage game', then that team has lost... IMO these type games are interesting and can be somewhat indicative, but they should be viewed with rationality...Case in point...I thought Albany with its representative team would be more of a challenge especially in their court...I have concerns, some of which have been partially alleviated....The ease of our win increased confidence..... I find the Siena board easiest to analyze due to its predictability....

To those who don't think that scrimmages aren't important, I'm guessing that you are confusing scrimmages with exhibition games. And even exhibitions are important in 'selling' the team to the fan base. But scrimmages give the coaches a better handle on how far along their team is and what they have to work on. And while the score doesn't matter, the workout/scrimmage does matter. Or why would teams even participate?

The scrimmages are a great tool for a coach to see what a team can do and what it needs to work on in a semi controlled environment. During practices teammates get so familiar with each others play that a few players may look like superstars but those same players weaknesses get exposed when dealing with the unpredictable behavior of an opponent in a scrimmage. These "games" are excellent tools for a staff.

ESPN'S Goodman posting lots of tweets about these "secret" scrimmages. Said SID'S and coaches allowed to give info after they are played. true? anyway, said Manhattan beat RI and Lawrence and Pankey played well. interesting tweet said Andujar played PG with 17 pts and 6 assists. hoping he gives any info on Iona/UA and Siena/Army.

I find it interesting that Manhattan has inserted Andujar as its PG. Though it's possible that they were just trying him at the position, because SM wasn't satisfied with the guys expected to be the PG's. Somewhat similar to Iona, last year, when AJ was moved to the point. If Andujar does end up as the Jaspers' starter, we are fortunate to have a PG, with size, to match up with him. The reported play of Pankey should be great news for Manhattan, because while he came along last year he wasn't dominant, but might be this year.He is a big guy. Bottom line, I'm staying with the Jaspers as the second best team in the MAAC. If we go with Casimir at PG, when playing Manhattan, it would be a 5'10 player against a 6'8 player, and I'd love to see how that would work out, but zones would probably get in the way.

Ctbill, I thought he was 6'8 but the official Manhattan site agrees with you. But I believe that you meant to say that Fordham didn't FARE too well in their scrimmage against St. Francis. Unless you were just trying to be FAIR. (Smiley Face)

Either way, he's big for a MAAC PG.
