Ctbill, I'm not TELLING anyone what to post or not post. I'm just expressing MY HOPE what people will post or not post. If it were up to me I'd opt for more news and less views. Bot, as we all know, it's not up to me. So needless to say when I see Iona 86, Super, EPat (he has newswire access) or Guy, when he has news from an Iona source I click pretty quickly. Or if you prefer, a quick click. It's a message board. It's meant to share both info and opinions. How much stock you put in said opinions is up to you.

Outside the guidelines set in both 'Iona Basketball' and 'General Discussion' I have no desire to propose or enforce any form of censorship.....I see no need...To do so would only begin the destruction of a informative, entertaining and interesting board...It would put us in the category of those sites that have long periods of silence especially during off season basketball...I at infrequent times come across posts that are shallow...with them I briefly peruse and move on.....

If in need of a laugh, read the general discussion section on the Siena board, "Around the MAAC". Tony talks about the delusional Iona fans who are already making excuses for not winning the MAAC tournament. And if we do lose it will have nothing to do with Siena playing on their home court, but on our poor defense. And they have another poster, Gorvy, who knows college basketball, but he's buying Tony's and his followers, who claim that Iona only has three decent players, plus a 6'4 PF and a slowed down KA. No mention of Casimir. Hence, he feels that Siena's physical style will wear the Gaels down. And that's a logical assumption IF you buy into the assumption that we don't have decent depth. Unfortunately, no other posters have taken Tony's bait.

Those guys have convinced themselves that they are going to win the MAAC. Will they? Maybe. But to support their belief they need to downplay the competition and in their mind that's us. They should also worry about Manhattan. KK does a good job on the MAAC board keeping it real. Thing is the MAAC is wide open once again. We have three really good players and we don't know what we're going to get from the rest. If they contribute we'll be fine. Everybody work hard.

I don't think the MAAC is wide open. We're going to win the league by three games.

If indeed we have the three best players on our team we will win the MAAC. I believe we do also. However, Manhattan will be strong and I like St. Peter's this year. Siena probably gets fourth by default since Quinny lost a guy that could have been a key contributor. The Saints problem is that they have no star player who can take over a game. Lots of good role players but no one that will scare the opposition and a point guard that has talent but has a lot to prove to be considered a star pg.

Just saw on Fordham board that John Severe has been suspended from the team for a week, missing their season opener. there were rumors last year of problems with him. is this the beginning of the end?

Really ridiculous.

Wait for the transfer announcement after things go south again for Fordham this season. And if Severe transfers Iona should decline interest. We don't need a 30% shooter with a bad attitude on the team.

Now is Paschall would like to come to New Rochelle, I would be more than happy to go pick him up.
