Fairfield, up by a point in OT with 10 seconds to play, supposedly called for a timeout they didn't have and get a technical called on them and lose at Rider 54-52. Fairfield falls to 6-16 and 4-8 in the MAAC. Rider now 15-9 and 9-4 in the MAAC.

resumeman, if FF had the refs that worked our game with SPU, they wouldn't have recognized the TO call, and hence no technical.

Just noticed that there were two great individual performances in the FF-Rider game. Malcom Gilbert had 30 points and 13 rebounds for FF, while Lopez had 20 points and 19 rebounds for Rider. Pretty impressive.

Gilbert was terrific, although the refs after conferring said that he was the player that called for the time out after recovering a loose ball. Lopez was too much for the Stags to handle in the paint, and he could have scored even more if he was a better free throw shooter (6-13) - he is 53% for the season.

Hate to say it, but SHU may be the top team in met area. Beaten by DePaul for 2nd time in 2 weeks. Outscored 16-3 in final 5 minutes. 15-7 (5-5) Early season home cooking now hurting them. Lots of familiar Willie antics throughout. SHU loses again --at home-- to Marquette 57-54--Willie ball at its worst Now 15-8 (5-6)

Watching Fordham up 11 under 5. Anybody want to bet on this game now? Even Fordham couldn't blow this game; St Louis is awful.

Two topics, Fordham/St. Louis and SPU/FF. St. Louis was my first college team, '47-48, and have followed them over the years. Didn't realize that they would be this bad, and don't know why they went downhill so fast. Maybe SLG can provide some insight. Fordham had lost 17 straight A10 games so the law of averages was on their side. And sensing 'blood' over 2800 fans turned out. Good for FU. And while SPU won, also, but knowing that Desi wasn't playing, the fans stayed away in droves, with only 317 at Yannetelli. My question, were they all made to sit in one section?
