Our next game will be on of our toughest MAAC games--at Monmouth. Hawks have been very good. We will be severely tested.

That is exactly why we lost. But, he obviously is not comfortable with the other guys. Laury and English were warriors. Give them their credit! Exactly. Agree we need minutes out of more players but I'm proud of the effort by Iona. This is going to be a very good Iona team, and this game is a building block for the rest of the season.

Crap ending, hate when we turn a close game into big loss, everyone will think we got killed all game. Yes fatigue played a big part but IW and Sed needed to hit shots. Monmouth may be second best team in the league, will be tough. Disappointing.

Guys, just to put this game into perspective
* Madden was a top 100 recruit (36th) * Portis was a top 100 recruit (16th) a McDonald's All American and a Jordan Brand AllStar * Kingsley was a top 100 recruit (43rd) * Beard was a top 100 recruit (90th)
On top of that Bell was rated an 88 by Scout, Williams had an ESPN grade of 89, Miles had an ESPN grade of 90 and Babb had an ESPN rating of 79. This is a very talented team and we hung with them pretty well with IW and Casimir not having great nights.

Keep in mind gents, we are only 6 games into Casimirs career, as the season progresses I'm sure he'll learn to take his show on the road, and we'll be all the better for it. We play every team in the MAAC with that effort and we'll run away with the conference.

Points off turnovers absolutely killer today and not finishing at rim. Agreed. But very good effort against the best team we will see until the NCAA tourney. Iona should be able to rip the MAAC. SHOULD...but there's usually a clunker or two which will send the board into a tizzy. Go Gaels.

I figured we'd lose, but give credit to Arkansas. They are ranked #25 for a reason and they were playing at home. I didn't think we'd be able to play with them but I was wrong. We're not as good but we're not too far off. Hopefully, Cedric comes away with added confidence that he can play against the Big Boys, though it didn't look that way today. A learning experience for him. IW's shots weren't falling but he had three blocks and a steal or three steals and a block, I forget which, to go along with nine rebounds. Kelvin hurt us in the first half, but bounced back with a good second half. He's improving. They shut down AJ for much of the second half, but it didn't seem that we were trying to get him open. Best DL game in a while, especially when you consider the opposition. A lot of the season left and we can't let down. And there is no guarantee that just because we played well for part of today's game that we'll have no trouble in the MAAC regular season games.

In my opinion a little too much concern if he can play against the "big boys". He just scored 40 points a few nights ago, and I don't care that it was Del. St. They did go and win at WF their next game. IW's shot didn't fall tonight but that it is not a concern. we all know what he can do and like posted earlier he also had 9 rebs, 2 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks. He will be 1st team all-maac and very good shot at defensive player of the year. he stuffs the stat sheet every game. Despite his turnovers, Amayo had some nice stats. 13pts, 6rebs, 7asst, 1st and 1 block. And he is only going to get better. In this game for the most part but was just worn down by a better team with much more depth.
TC has to figure out a way to get some quality minutes from the bench. Lets hope the paper work gets done with Biescheid and somehow gets his waiver to play the 2nd semester. while I understand he will take a little time to get used to the system but will supply quality depth. All in all would have been great to pull off the upset or at least make the game interesting the last couple of minutes, there was plenty of good to take from this game

Fatigue in the 2nd half hurt us today. As many mentioned in the chat room, the lack of quality minutes from the bench was evident as Arkansas pulled away from the 69-67 lead and never looked back.
I feel TC should utilize 9 players every game. In addition to the main 5, Ibn, Dublin, Hines and either Ellis or Robinson (whoever earned it in practice). I don't expect 15 minutes from these guys, but each will have to give 4-6 mins of productive game time, to give our starters some well needed rest. These subs can strategically come in around media timeouts in an effort to lengthen rest for our starters.
Today, Hines had a 30 second cameo and Ellis came in, shot an air ball, made a heck of a defensive play and he too was yanked. I feel this can really hurt a kids confidence level.
Bell hurt us early and Qualls is a terrific player ad he showed a very impressive inside/outside game. Arkansas played 11 or 12 and the kids from the bench all seemed to chip in.
Tough loss for the Gaels. Hope the team has a short memory in preparation for Monmouth next week.

Most people won't even notice. Not sure why this drives you nuts it's the facts. A majority of people with a mild interest in this game will just look at the final score, plus more importantly power ratings such as Sagarin and pomeroy put score into their calculations. A 17 point loss hurts our ratings, 10 was the pre-game differential ( and that factors in being on the road). RPI score doesn't matter but the others I mentioned are used for seedings and will hurt us. Now I better be quiet and focus on the next game or we may lose. By the way look at the response on Guys retweet of a story that said we played well. Two reponses say we got killed and we suck. This is what I was talking about.

Careful what you wish for. Severe overreaction to lack of bench use tonight. We had no choice, and this is not the type of game you want Hines or Dublin playing in. We will get production out of them in MAAC games. In SEC road games it would be ugly if you're relying on a 6'4 transfer power forward and a lanky role player to get the job done.
Better to roll the dice with tired legs of big talent than with fresh legs of unreliable backups in games of this magnitude.
