Rebounds rebounds rebounds. We've been unable to find 2 bigs for any one season relying on laury and glove to carry the load. 3 rebounds from out other big just isn't going g to take us to the next level.
I would instruct Hine to focus on rebounds and nothing else

ichoops, if you want to be taken seriously, or even semi-seriously, sprinkle in some facts with your opinions. For instance, say something like that since he's been a starter, Ryden has averaged SEVEN boards, but I think that he can do a better rebounding job. And then you could overlook the fact that he's grabbed seven boards while playing just over half a game. But I'm guessing you knew that.

I really liked seeing Ryden talking to/cooling down AJ in the UMASS game when AJ got heated early in the game. He may be a leader down the road.

We haven't had a legit 5 rebounding body in a while and have left most of that to glover and then laury. If I was 7 foot you bet your ass I would have 10 rebounds for as many minutes I played

ichoops, are you Daniel Robinson posting as someone else? And while I don't know many grammatical rules, one that I seem to remember is that you use were and not was in conditions contrary to fact. (Smiley Face)

Having observed the play of Hines over the past year and a half..........
IMO he is not yet a leader, but has shown recent signs of developing the needed ability..........
He is also overcoming the lack of confidence and competition of his Alaskan High School experience...His sudden realization that ''Hey...I can play with these guys'' has triggered his recent aggressive play...
Over his remaining time at Iona we will see the emergence and ever growing maturity and leadership of a valuable team member...

OT, I agree we will see development over time. I have faith in Coach Cluess' player development, especially over 4 years. Ryden and his teammates are fortunate that Coach Cluess and staff are making them the best they can be on and off court.

Hines did go to high level prep school in Las Vegas. He needs more playing time--and is now getting it. We saw glimpses last year.

(Smiley Face) Noted! Happy you agree on the other points. Just not a fan of bigs in the mold of Huffman.

[He played AAU in vegas against tough competition, coming from Alaska means nothing[/quote] 1970........Do you really believe that 1 year of AAU ball where he probably was outclassed in the 1st place made up for 4 years of Alaskan High School basketball where in all probability the lesser schooled type hoops is played in the nation...He is still playing catch up type basketball, and his hoop history exposes that fact....... Had he played 4 years with a inner state city team against that type competition, he would have been far further advanced and you as a knowledgeable fan should agree that it means something....
