Opening line is UMass -4.5.
A little higher then expected...The chances IMO it will end up a point or two lower... It is also likely without injuries the last game this year we will be under dogs.....

[If you have an Iona Insider subscription, you can watch the UMass game on your computer courtesy of Neulion and A10 Network sharing. Note however, this game is not available on mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android).
Thanks Sid......Question...Just took a chance...Got the Drexel game with no cost...Was it just lucky or are there still team sites that do not charge?

Pretty crazy when you look at the numbers, but we actually have a better chance of going 25-6 (13.2%) than 21-10 (11.2%). We also have an equal chance of losing only one more game the entire season than we do of winning under 20 games.
The UMass game is important for us on many levels. A win would likely boost our RPI around 5 pts, give us a solid OOC body of work, and keep a glimmer of hope alive for an at-large if we can plow through the MAAC with minimal slip ups (maybe 1-2 losses max).
Let's hope the guys bring it tomorrow night. We can win this game.

There are still some team sites that do not charge. I think Quinnipiac is the only one in the MAAC that doesn't. Drexel is a part of the CAA Network which is free.

Glad to see that Sid didn't run down to 95. Please stuck around for the AD opening one of these years

Been away trying to follow things remotely. I'm encouraged by the performance against Drexel. Rotation seems to be a little deeper now and if Hines continues to rebound well I like our chances to pull off a road win against UMASS. I have a hunch the team will pull this off.

Trivia Question for all you Maroon Maniacs. Does anyone remember what the result/opponent of the final game Iona played in the 1900's was? It would've been 12/29, 12/30, or 12/31 of 1999. No cheating and looking it up. I think I remember because at the time I made a mental note of it. Hint it was an OOC opponent.

Yes, St. Louis is Super, but what does that have to do with the UMass game?

I know we opened against UMass that year and lost at home--so, it can't be them. I also recall we had a horrible early record, getting crushed at Hofstra and losing at St Francis in OT. Was that our last win against FU? Or, was it the surprise win @ BC?

I believe if I remember correctly our last game played in the 1900's was a win on the road at Boston College. I then went to a New Year's Eve party, Dec. 31, 1999, where everyone dressed as their favorite character of the 1900's. I went as Babe Ruth and spent a fair amount of time hanging out with Joe Dimaggio and Marilyn Monroe.
