Several weeks ago with so many worried about the lack of depth and bench, it is amazing how the tune has changed. Kept saying be Patient. Coach Cluess was developing that bench by playing them when it was appropriate to not damage their confidence. Now that we are in MAAC Conference play he will have the team focused and ready. Looking forward to see what unfolds against Quinnipiac. Ryden and Dublin will get a chance to be physical against the always tough front line of Quinnipiac. Expecting Kelvin Amayo to bounce back from his tough game against Siena. I feel Schadrac and AJ will be dropping bombs from the perimeter giving us our own "Shock and Awe" display. David will be David with another double-double. Make it happen GAELS!

husker, I agree with your view, but have to admit, that if ic-oops posted it, I'd be worried. Journal News has us favored by 11.

Looking at Quinnipiac's statistics reveal the expected. They score inside, rely on more free throws than opponents and shoot poorly from 3. Ryden and Dublin will need to take up space down low and absorb contact to help David. This will be a good test of our physicality. I really think Iona needs to attack Quinnipiac's strength it's front court and draw fouls. Take advantage of and enjoy the home court. Love Kelvin and Shadrac's fearlessness at attacking the rim. Once they pack the lane start dropping the 3's. This team needs to work on putting teams down early and holding their foot on the opponents throats to the finish. Just take care of business and get the win. GO GAELS!

Line down to 9.5? why? Because there's more degenerates in Connecticut?

Game wasn't on TV so had to follow on game cast. Looks like Laury and IW carried the team.
One stat blew me away. Quinny took 20 more shots than Iona? Don't think I've ever seen that in an Iona victory.
Nice W.

Wasn't as close as the final score. Up about 16 with 4 mins I think. A couple of empty trips in a row where we burned no time off the clock and forced up a quick shot. One appeared to be an 3/4 court alley oop to Sed. Probably not my choice for a shot selection. Then suddenly they started bombing threes and making them in the last minute or two, from way out. Score was a bit misleading. It probably should've been an 12-14 point win. We got a bit goofy there at the end.

Kind of looked like Sed was pressing a bit tonight. Maybe he wanted to show Quinny that they should've offered him a Scholly.

LAURY now hitting 3's pretty consistently which if this continues will make him unstoppable. He is the Maac player of the year favorite and he should get the Haggerty though he won't. Williams is just so fun to watch play. Bebis with some nice minutes off the bench. Sed had his first bad home game. Thought Cluess made some nice coaching moves tonight. Hopefully this can continue and we can go on a Maac roll like last year but with a better ending.
