DLIII was remarkable. After missing his first 2 FTs made 9 (I think) in a row. It used to scare me when he took an outside shot, but his 3s were pretty pure tonight. With an outside game he is unstoppable.
IW, who doesn't always get the recognition he deserves, made his presence known tonight. He had a great game with clutch rebounds, put backs, and 3s to thwart any hopes that Quinny would get back into the game.
Oh, and Don Guy got some serious face time at the 3:51 time out. I was waiting for him to point to one of his body guards to get the camera.
Let's continue the home winning streak on Saturday.
Go Gaels!!!

Thought DL3 and IW were the only two guys who brought their "A" games tonight.
The whole team needs to realize they're carrying targets on their backs and playing Iona is the biggest conference game for every opponent.
Extremely intense match-up between DL3 and Quinny's Drame. Lots of chatter and trash talking that I imagine will continue at their place and if the two meet in Albany.
Thought much of the team sleepwalked tonight.
Hopefully, they'll be firing on all cylinders Saturday against Canisius.

Don't want to rain on this parade (great game by IW and DL) but I would like to see us be little smarter when leading by 16 with 3:23 to play. Casmir rushes the ball up the court and makes a bad decision to go to the hoop among three trees. Lucky to get fouled but opened the door to let Quinny to get it back under 10. On a different night with a different team it could have been disastrous. It kept Quinny in the game far longer than it should have been. Let's be smarter and manage the game better with big leads. A nice win and I'm happy!

Some thoughts:
1. Looked a bit flat at the beginning, but thought team bounced back and put together a solid effort that really was never in doubt after halftime. 2. Credit to coaching staff who made great adjustments, smart substitution patterns to exploit matchups, and used timeouts wisely all game long. 3. Amayo getting more comfortable by the game, and continues to impress as a passer in addition to slasher. If he could only develop a jump shot that is respected by defenders similar to what DL3 did he would be unstoppable in the MAAC. 4. DL3 a man among boys right now and living up to hype as POY. 5. Great sign that Bebis is becoming a dependable 10 MPG player, and adjusting nicely to D1 ball at this early stage of his career. 6. Tough night for Hines, who showed a great effort but got beat to way too many loose balls and was out muscled by the more seasoned QU front line. 7. Not AJ's best performance but as always, he comes through with the much needed clutch shot to answer a run when we need him to. 8. Refereeing was horrible tonight both ways. Can't count how many travels, blocking fouls, and loose ball fouls this crew missed. 9. For a team that prides themselves on rebounding, no clue how QU lets IW get about four easy put backs without boxing out or contesting him. 10. All in all this should be they story of our conference season in a nutshell. We will have a few surprises, but if our guys bring the effort they should be able to win games by sheer talent and class alone against conference opponents.
Go Gaels!!!

His performance was as good as I've seen from a Gael as I've seen in a while - all around game. If we ever put together a complete effort by the entire team it will be scary.

My thoughts: 1. 15 TO's. And DL had six of them. Sloppy game overall. But even when we are sloppy, we can put up points in a hurry.
2. AJ seems to be forcing things. As was Cedric. 3. Bebis looks more comfortable. 4. Quinny is 0-4, but imo they are a good team. Or at least pretty good. 5.Still couldn't get to the pre-game reception, so I still have no idea about the Buffalo transfer. Or where Ellis is going. Did anyone hear anything? 6. TC is 13 wins away from 500. And I know they are not DI wins, but wins nonetheless. Bottom line, TC knows how to win.

Gary mentioned there were scouts from the Nets and Pacers there last night to see AJ. He's just got to play his game and not force things. Its the body of work and maturity and physical ability that will get him drafted.

I wonder if Aj forces things on the days scouts are there, if there is a connection to good and bad games not trying to stir the pot, maybe we have an ex player that can talk to him if he presses those games
