Don't disagree Chels. Expect Amayo to start--Just feeling we may get a lift from unexpected source. Traveling today--could use some help with score updates. Griffs up 1- 7 minutes left. Amayo 16 pts. 4 fouls

AJ can't dribble through 3 men at the end. We have to develop a better end of game rhythm. Cedric was open on the right wing for a three. I think that would have been a better look.

Canisius bench scored 22 points. Our bench scored ZERO. Hines must step up - not, "It would be nice, if the nice young man could contribute" - he MUST. Dublin and Hines need to reverse minute allocation.

AJ has not been good in crunch time. Iona O was poor in first half, which put us in a hole.

Game for first Thursday, win and its a good road trip, lose and its a very bad one. I am worried about the team without IW, but we shall see. Yes aj made some bad plays down the stretch but he almost had a triple double and despite the controversial call last game ( refs made up for it today as aj was clearly tripped leading to the foul on him), his conventional 3 and two clutch free throws both under 30 seconds won last game and his long three against Canisius with under a minute won that game. I think you have to at least say he has been up and down at the end of games, and some of the blame has to be on the play calling, at the end of games it's been awful as usual, they always look like they don't know what to do.

Walk on is our best rebounder/box out player. No question.
Heath and Valenti had a number of uncontested interior lay up's due to nobody putting a body on them.
I would like to see more Kristen.

Tough loss but split on Buffalo trip isn't the worst thing in the world. Great effort in second half after a terrible first half.
Tough game for ryden. He has to get tougher and lessen the burden on DL3 particularly on the boards.
Btw, horrible execution on final sequence of game. 11 seconds down four and we look lost and defeated. News flash the game isn't over yet. Get a quick uncontested bucket and foul again. But our play is to get ryden an off balance meaningless 3 pointer with 2 seconds left on clock.
Big game Thursday night. Let's get it done.
Go Gaels!

Wasn't able to watch the game but I see that we at least kept it close. I thought this would be a tough game even with a full squad -- Canisius played us very well at Hynes.
Seems like we had end of game execution problems again, which is a shame. What else went well? What didn't?
Did the staff adjust well to Canisius double teaming AJ up high in the half court offense?

Right now playing with a 2 man team, Sed needs to step up and Amayo has to have a better basketball iq, as good as he is at times he makes up for it with a dumb play shortly after. IW is the glue, the team goes from very good to slightly above average without him.
Other than riding our two horses I doubt you can expect much from any others except Sed and Amayo, but even with those two I think all you can expect is a big game from each of them every so often.
10 or so games without IW, I would say 6-4 is what I expect and that may not be good enough.

Hines had wide open shots on several occasions but decided to pass off each time. Saw that in the Niagara game also. He seems to have lost his confidence and aggressiveness that he was starting to exploit in previous games.

As i said in the tenth post in this thread, Jim Baron will be all over the refs to watch for AJ's off hand when he's going to the basket. With ten seconds left in the game he got the call he was looking for, and it won them the game. Baron is a VG coach, but it is ironic, that his son Billy, got away with the same move for the past couple of years. Have to say that I was very proud of how hard the Gaels played, today. You can question Kelvin's BB IQ, but not his heart. He leaves it all on the court.
