Hines had wide open shots on several occasions but decided to pass off each time. Saw that in the Niagara game also. He seems to have lost his confidence and aggressiveness that he was starting to exploit in previous games. Hines can shoot. He has to take the open shots he is given. Hope Cluess can get through to him.

AJ has not been good in crunch time. Iona O was poor in first half, which put us in a hole. He won the Niagara game for us on crunch time

Thanks Joe. When I was on Iona Insider two days ago, it said the audio was only available. Looks like we get the game today on icgaels.com That leads to a further question: I have been an insider for about three years now. I would not oppose paying a higher subscription fee if we were able to view ALL games. For example, the North Texas game was not part of the package, thus I had to sign up for a one month subscription on their site to view our one game with them. Does anyone know if this could be accomplished or is each out of conference game treated like a separate entity and unable to combine in an all encompassing package. Perhaps SID could shed some light. It showed up late because Canisius sets up its video events a couple days before as opposed to the entire season, so this weekend was an anomaly. Niagara, Siena and Quinnipiac are our only MAAC opponents not a part of the MAAC.tv/Iona Insider network. The network works because the remainder of us use Neulion as a website provider. Non-conference road game depend on the opponent. Nine times out of 10, if our opponent is a Neulion partner, I can get them to share their webcast with Iona Insider. There's a lesser chance, but still good, that I can get them to share with MAAC.tv as well. In this instance, North Texas uses CBS Sports. UMass was the only game this year that applied as the A-10 streaming network is provided by Neulion. The pregame "Game Center" will always have the correct link.

Just noticed that this Thursday, there are two MAAC games, with Iona playing Rider and first place on the line. Needless to say the other game, Canisius-FF, is the one on ESPN3.

Been busy...Today is the last day in our home located a stones throw from Hynes...It has served us well...Moving to Sunshine Assisted Living Home located about a mile and a half from Iona...One of the hard decisions that have to be made late in life...Be prepared...I will be using a new T.V. and Internet provider which will take a day or two to install...Hope it will all be ready for Thursday's game... In most of my posts even though I have been a most optimistic fan there was usually the caveat as to the misfortune to a key player such as we have now sustained...We were like a beautiful home built to close to the ocean and the danger it offered...Now that erosion has struck, we will have to adjust...We fans also must also set goals and emotions to a lower level... We IMO have dropped from the ''The class of the MAAC'' and until adjustments are made we will have a battle on our hands...It will be a learning period to those that have become used to the ''Beautiful View''........ A misfortunate has struck...Now is not the time to place blame on individuals who have served us well...It is a time to meet ''Head On'' the challenge ahead....

AJ has not been good in crunch time. Iona O was poor in first half, which put us in a hole. He won the Niagara game for us on crunch time I can forgive guys for trying to make a play and committing an offensive foul instead of not wanting the ball. If AJ hid on that play, we'd be criticizing him for not wanting the ball. Too many "hero" plays yesterday, imo. Got to keep sharing the ball and trusting teammates to make a play. I like that AJ and Dave are trying to step up and pick up IW. We need to move the ball better on offense and create the open shot. That game and Thursday's game at Rider are our most vulnerable games according to Ken Pom and that was before IW went down. One point spread. Play as a team, and play hard and we can win. Bot on offense and defense. I like this team and guys are trying their best it appears. I like Hines and Bebis. Duracevic (sp?) gave us some energy. Let's band together and play as a team.

Personally think AJ has hit enough clutch shots and proven his value in crunch time enough in the past that he gets a pass on yesterday.

Agree, he is the only iona player in many years that has delivered multiple times at the end of games. His and one against niagara was huge as well as his free throws, his shot at home against canisus and last year his shot against SPC are some examples.

I know it must be hard to leave your home. To add on to your post: AJ and David have the weight of the world on their shoulders. They are great players and have to play great in most games for us to win. Cas is a freshman that has exceeded expectations, but still he is a freshman and will continue to have uneven performances. The rest of the guys range from potential to be good to praying that they will be good. We don't know. As you indicated, an injury to one of our big three makes us much more beatable.

I was surprised that we were where we were with a minute to go in yesterday's game. Despite all the issues accurately chronicled here, Cluess had us on the cusp of a win and, had it happened, a sweep of the Buffalo trip. Many of us said a week ago that we would take that, and that was before IW went down. I think that Ryden is still adjusting to the speed of the game. That will never happen if he tries to replicate IW or David. In the short tem, Coach may have to adjust the game pace to Ryden for him to be effective. I thought that Sed was pressing a bit yesterday - he took the ball into the lane a couple of times without a plan. He will get there. Same could be said for AJ.
