What I'd like to know is why we spend so much time talking about a coach who hasn't been here since 2009-10. I agree 100% we say others have an infatuation with Iona but i think some here have one with other schools

OK. How about we talk about Fordham? They got a big get, signing Tony Chiles as an assistant.

Reports on twitter that Tiny Morton left his position at Seton Hall tonight. I know he was part of the package deal to get Isaih Whitehead. Wonder if any players jump the sinking ship

I'm under the impression that SH will be pretty good, this year. Probably the second best team in the NYC Metro area.

Willard is in pretty deep shit. If SHU does not win this year he will be sent packing with Lyons. From what I heard from a SHU alumnus and hoops insider. it is rumored, the surprise contract extension granted to Willard was not as set as some media people made it out to be. Basically Lyons gave Willard time to get one more year under his belt to turn this around. The deal was structured so that SHU only had to worry about a large buyout if they tossed Willard before the end of this coming season. Once this season ends, the stipulated buyout amount drops to a level that will not cause SHU to blink an eye to get rid of him. This was a crafty way to get Willard a second year with his highly touted recruiting class. If they win I am sure Lyons will be able to secure Willard's job contractually but if SHU bombs... Lyons took a huge risk himself to get Willard the chance to turn it around.
Tiny Morton may have left for a couple of reasons. 1) The NYCDOE, I believe, has to hold his job as a middle school teacher for one year so he may have left to more secure ground with the Willard situation up in the air. 2) His son was a walk-on at SHU last season and that would have cost SHU a scholarship. If Morton leaves it frees up that ship. In the end this does not look good for Willard. All reports have Willard shocked that this just happened.

I hope that Seton Hall yearly prediction that they will be a Metro Area top teams meets with better results then the past 5 years...IMO they will never live up to expectation as long as Willard is head coach...Watching him closely when he was in his short term at Iona his dour disposition and aloof bearing was more suited to business adventure then to a college basketball coach...I was glad to see him leave...His subsequent 5 years at Seton Hall bears witness to that evaluation... IMO Seton fans are tiring of expectations.........
