Brain Surgeons on the Fordham board are at it again: 1. They found out that Tony Chiles was a former Iona assistant, under JR. They'll take him as long as he's in no way connected to Valvano and Ruland. Another classy poster noted that JV is dead, so that should be distance enough. 2. A possible landing place for Paschall is now Florida. And he has to question why he would want to go from being a team's centerpiece to a five minute a game player. Would someone let the Brain Surgeons know that Mason just transferred from a MAAC team to another SEC school and he was a starter. When you come to think of it, for the last twenty years or so Fordham BB has been awful. But imo, their team has been better than many of their posters. The bigger question is why in the world would Tony Chiles want to work at Fordham?

Cjb, jobs are hard to come by. And if the Pecora contract is any indication, FU tends to over pay in order get people to coach there.

Tau doesn't think he did a very good job, and I'm starting to agree with him.

SJU had SO MANY assistant coaches, it's hard to know who was responsible for recruiting whom. As an outsider I have no idea, but TAU does seem to know a lot about their program. Since Tony Chiles was part of their program they did bring in a lot of players, but like I said, I have no idea who was responsible for recruiting them.

They, and the head coach are allowed to recruit.

Oh ic59, I see what you mean. Coach Dunlap left for the Bobcats, he didn't do much recruiting, and Darrick Martin was demoted to DBO when they brought in Jim Whitesell. The guys who did most of the recruiting were Lavin, Chiles, and Rico Hines.

Tariq Owens transferring from Tennesse to St. John's. 6"11 three star center out of high school. Three years of eligibility remaining. I actually got this out before you Tau.

I'm confused. What does Tariq Owens have to do with Iona?

I'm confused. What does Tariq Owens have to do with Iona? Reckson still thinks this is the Red Men board

70, you were being so cool. Let me explain ic59. There are a lot of SJU posts here because it relates to local hoops and certainly Iona hoops. I'm not the only one posting about SJU. Most SJU posts here are not from me. Tau just posted about Adonis transferring, and his point was that since Owens is coming to SJU, Adonis may transfer, and Iona should take a look. It's a domino effect. It all relates. So take a slightly broader view of college hoops. I did subsequently post this on the transfers thread, though, because I initially made a mistake. My sincere apologies.
