Didn't you say Monmouth or Manhattan could could make the list somewhere between Canisius and Iona? Yes. I didn't say ahead of Iona. Neither did anyone else as far as I can tell. Just trying to figure this out.

OT is trying to stir the pot because some of us believe Monmouth is going to be good. The fact that the guy who created these rankings thinks Canisius is the league's second best team destroys any credibility the rankings have. Where Iona falls has nothing to do with this--pretty sure we all thought top 80 was likely and top 50 was probably the high water mark. But Monmouth will finish 3-4 games ahead of the Griffs. And this is a far more educated opinion than the guy who does these rankings.

I also posted I would be shocked if Monmouth was not ranked ahead of Canisius. However I didn't bother to read the Canisius preview, but it was posted on the MAAC board and I believe in this thread, that they picked Canisius to finish 2nd in the MAAC. So obviously there will not be another MAAC team ranked besides Iona.
So yes OT you are correct, Iona is the only remaining team to get ranked, though I don't agree as I feel Monmouth will be better than the Griffs

Rider should be better than Canisius as well.

As the season proceeds we will find out soon enough each teams true ability and each boarders prognostic basketball value...

Actually, I've done the same research, and this poll has sucked over the years with regard to the MAAC. Not sure where you're looking. I would wager with anyone that: 1. Canisius will not finish in the top 144, and 2. Canisius will not finish second (or better) in the MAAC.

So the guy who created the poll has no credibility because he had the audacity to rank Canisius ahead of Monmouth, and Guy has a far more educated opinion then the guy who does these rankings... Self-aggrandizing at its best..... As to the MAAC...its conference rating has dropped dramatically simply because its overall play has deteriorated along with those in most leadership positions...It will continue its downward slide until there is a infusion of new leadership blood....It has become a two level conference but with 11 teams this is the general result...A 8 team conference would allow a wider and more diversified OOC schedule and add interest to what has become mid-season drag.....

As to Canisius finishing second or better...I have long and learning experience with odds....As you would have 10 teams to finish with a winning bet against my one I am not interested...

Would put my maac track record against any media type out there, particularly one who does not specialize in mids. Will also disagree with you that the maac will continue to get worse. There is absolutely no reason to expect that.

Guy.....Yours has now become a ridiculous 1 bet wager where 2 different results had to occur...You are not also waffling, but wiggling..............Play that game with the less informed but easily led....(Your home territory)... IMO Canisius will finish in the Top 144....Accept the wager or not...

I very clearly stated the terms of my wager, based on the arguments you have presented. Only waffling going on here is coming from you. You have posted multiple times calling out other posters on the fact that this poll picks Canisius second, mocking those of us who believe in some of the other teams. Now, you dodge and deflect, which are common traits on the MAAC board--my "home territory", as you called it. And it's precisely why I've owned that board since its inception. People say silly things, get called on it, then backpedal--this is what you are doing now. So, if the MAAC board is "my territory", thank you for making me feel at home here as well. :-p

Do this with facts and not stray off into generalities...I have become aware over the years that unless one condescends to you, he becomes a challenge to your perch.....On the vast majority of my posts you have taken issue whatever the subject... So I will leave you hoping the practice season arrival will provide a much needed return to our infatuation---Iona Basketball...
