Every team can get scares at home. Tex Southern was first game without AJ and no practice time. Niagara is a league opponent and we failed to cover the spread by only 3 points--doesn't matter how you get there.

We are REALLY good at home, but I was at the tex southern and niagra home games. Those games could have gone either way. They are both Bad teams, very bad. Monmouth is a whole lot better. I think vegas will make the hawks a small favorite(-2). If we play the same way against Monmouth it will be over early. We just moved you 3 points. 4 more to go I think the books put us at dogs +2 points. If I was making the line I would put it at Iona +5. We have looked really bad at certain points this season, With AJ and without AJ. I am hoping the power of Hynes pulls us through. I am skipping rider, but will be at the Marist game on sat. I hope the streak is still alive after the two "easy" games and we are not looking ahead.

EP, while I agree with you, I feel that Iona will definitely look past their next two games to the Monmouth game. Coaches can preach, tell, yell, but deep down the team thinks they are better and will play accordingly. Hopefully, being better will save the day.

The key this year in the MAAC will be who is healthy come tournament time. Most teams have already dealt with injuries with the exceptions being Monmouth and St. Peter's. If they lose key players it will be interesting how they fare. Pray for good health for Iona to finish the year as the depth will be needed.

Speaking of the MAAC, I'm sure that the League couldn't be happier than to have their top two teams meeting in a game on national tv. No matter how the game turns out, the MAAC should walk away a winner. A good crowd and good refs would help.

When was the last time that we played SPU and they were ahead of us in the MAAC standings? Gotta give John Dunne a lot of credit as he has his team in first place after winning at FF, last night. Score was 'about' 77-71, if I remember correctly. He had a center (Weldon) and a PG (Wyche) returning, and recruited an OG (Portley) from Texas, I believe, who is a ROY candidate. He plays a few role players, and once again stresses defense. And like I said they're in first place.

Will be interesting how St Peters fares against Monmouth. St. Peters and Rider certainly have been the surprises this season.

Will be interesting how St Peters fares against Monmouth. St. Peters and Rider certainly have been the surprises this season. Before start of season I would have bet at least 50 to 1 that Iona would always be the favorite at home...I am now so sure...With Washington on suspension. there is a very good possibility that we will be underdogs Friday night against St. Peters...It is a key game...A victory could put us on the right path once more...

Husker.....St. Peter's agree......Rider no.....They are 5-12 overall...They have 2 MAAC wins and several losses...They did beat a wounded Iona team at Rider...IMO the only surprise is that they were pre-season picks much higher...Unless the surprise is they are playing so disappointing

OT, the surprise with Rider is how they have not lived up to the pre-season expectations. As we all know the fortunes of a team can turn quickly. Time will tell.

OT, still think that we'll be the favorite, tomorrow night. Maybe a five point favorite.

Monmouth is a 10 point favorite at Draddy tonight. Other than Iowa, who is a top 10 team playing an atrocious Rutgers squad, the Hawks are the largest road favorite in the entire nation today.

Coach Masiello and Coach Rice, Clash of the Egos! I am sure the game will be entertaining and the Manhattan fans will be ready.
