I also noticed Saintil is not listed. I understand that he is a walk- on this year, and sitting his year in residence, but walk-ons have always been listed on the roster. Is he still coming to Iona. Have to be honest. Losing 3 commits (Allen, Mitchell, Gardiner) coming off of a MAAC championship and NCAA bid is a little concerning.

Also noticed that the walkon from Switzerland isn't on the roster. Might have to wait until there are tryouts for walkons. Unless, 05 or Super are able to unearth some inside info, we probably won't get answers until "Meet the Gaels". On the Women's roster there is a transfer from Alabama, but don't know if she has to sit out this year. She does have a famous Iona BB name, Martinez.

We can't really worry about a guy who never set foot on our campus. Could be any number of reasons why, but really it makes no difference. Also I have never been comfortable assuming that a guy who we just signed and then is not coming is in any way a "loss." We have had guys come in touted and stink, and have had guys come in under the radar and shine. I am more concerned about getting Casimir back in the flow of things by February and getting Bessick back as soon as we can. I still like what he brings us, and even if he is not as good as the newer frontcourt players he is still a known commodity.

Fair points by Guy concerning Bessick. He didn't live up to the preseason hype last year, but did average 3.5ppg/3.3rpg in only 11mpg. Is Bessick cleared to start the season? If healthy, it is possible that Bessick and Williams can possibly combine for 11 & 8 with some interior defense, which would be fine along with JW. We have to remember that Williams is only a sophomore, and needs time to get used to D1.

I am worried that we won't have enough healthy bodies to practice all year. Also if a guy needs a couple days off from practice it will make it even worse,

I expected Gardiner to be a significant contributor. Is he definitely not on the team? This happens all the time, I understand. Did something happen, though? It looks like Gardiner "went on to greener pastures."

Trouble with waiting on Ced is that he's a guard. And we have plenty of guards, who are also pretty good. But as for the forward position, not so much.

Don't think we will see much of 2 forwards all year, you are going to see lots of 4 guards. Minutes to be split between Svandrlik, Much, Cassell, McGill, Severe, Crawford and eventually Casimir at the 4 spots. My guess Williams spells Washington, you will see some 5 guard lineups. If Washington gets hurt we are in trouble and when he gets in foul trouble you are going to have to see 5 guard sets. Should be interesting to see how this all works out.

Cluess plays his best 5 so it's entirely possible we will on occasion see a four-guard lineup. But that's fine too. Can't worry about if Washington gets hurt. Take away the best player on any team and they are screwed too.

Looking at height of the players, I think that if I played BB at Iona, I would have been listed at 5'11 and Guy at 6'00.
