Biggest disappointment from last night, besides the obvious lack of rebounding and poor three point shooting, was Williams and Svandrlik playing less than one minute. Have to agree with 59, looks like Williams and Svandrlik will be glued to the bench. Last night was the perfect game for them to have possibly played a role, with the team struggling with rebounding and three point shooting. The fact that neither has improved enough and gained the trust from TC to play last night is a problem. When Svandrlik checked into the game, I was hoping he could supply a spark and hit a couple threes, like he did last season in the Ohio game. Looks like he missed a defensive assignment and committed a foul, and that was it for the night. I would think he has not practiced well to get pulled so quickly and never see the court again, when his one strength was needed last night.
Iona has a very solid 7 man rotation. Need 2 more kids to step up and be able to break into the rotation for 5-10 minutes a game.

Any reference to Cluess being an undesirable coach is beond ridiculous. This team will be fine as the year goes on. I’m not worried at all. We knew rebounding would be an issue. It will improve as will other aspects of the game. It’s all about the MAAC anyway.

Good post 59. Turning point in the game was the three point play after an Albany miss. Edogi couldn't pull the rebound down, otherwise we would've had the ball tied and likely won the game. Agreed. In close games, each play is magnified. When that board escaped TK, I knew the dagger 3 was inevitable.

albanygael, thanks. Vallin probably just frustrated from a close loss.

I am with most of you guys.. nothing to worry about at this point. I am alarmed at the rebounding differential(44-21) but am amazed we were still in the game. Edogi is a good one. He may be the most athletic 5 in the Maac this year.

I never do, but I saw enough last night to encourage me. Cluess teams always start slow and always get better. The only thing that ever worries me is how much better, and I think this team can get allot better.

This team is more versatile than any of TC's previous teams. So many different lineups and combinations that we can go to. Rebounding is always an issue for us early in the season, but we usually get it figured out by January. Expect the guards to start crashing the boards hard soon and that will change things.

Seems like we could have used Williams last night on the boards I don’t know what’s going on there. It seemed to me that D looks much better all around. Our glaring hole appears to be around the rim. Kensmil looks like he can fill that role in the future but probably not this year. Excited to see how he develops. A close opening season loss to a decent team on the road on a night where we did not have a hot hand...I ‘ll take it. I’m sure Cluess learned more from this than we did and I’m sure he will tune things. Go Gaels!
